Summary: Harmonization of old and new The production and warehousing complex of Mago a leading European manufacturer of shop fixtures and fittings was being founded within the period of 10 years at Nadarzyn near Warsaw close to the express route linking Warsaw with Katowice The necessity to construct an office building and additional warehousing space provided the opportunity to transform an old chaotic building layout created on the when needed basis into a homogenous architectural complex The building s vicinity to the busy highway and considerable scale have provided the inspiration for design The exterior architecture culminates in large planes of the facade clad with ALUCOBOND ® divided by horizontal belts of specially ordered aluminium profiles with integrated lines of blue LED s In total around 4 000 m² of the elevation space was clad with The horizontal facade divisions were separated with the semi circular illuminated towers made of opaque glass while the office quarters used a glass and stone facade Both the existing and part of the newly designed buildings have been clad with the homogenously designed facade The project tastefully merges silver aluminium panels the graphite colour of the slate and the large fully transparent glass panes In 2007 the project design and its construction won the Platinum Drill prize in the redevelopment and modernisation category awarded by BOSCH
