Partners (2) fee division for Architectural firms? I am starting a architectural design firm and plan to do so with a partner. Basically am thinking of dividing fees as follows A partner introduces project 60%-70% B partner 30%-40% Project won via competition 50:50 Do you know any guidelines in detail for division of design fee esp in design firms? This is because we have drafting, 3D, regulatory skills etc in this field and if there is any weighted means on some of the skills when determinig how to share the fee. If you know something plaease let me know. architect s advice awaited. Thank you
Am I gifted or something like that? Here are my facts: Honestly, my teacher once told us the class that a child who can remember the things when he was below 7 or 5 maybe.. is a gifted one. As long as I could remember also, when I was 3 or 4, my family and I went to our grandma's house where I can never forget about the iguana on our sleep.. and also my grandma has a pond which i can remember i almost become wet, i can also remember that my sisters together with my mother went to the church while i was asleep. There are many things i can remember on that.. I also remember the feeling inside a booth or something like that, you ride on a coaster something, i just jumped out of the coaster when we were near the public viewing area, it was because i was scared of the things that i saw.. after i jump a man caught me as we waited for my parents and sisters. One thing also is that my interests and hobbies varies widely... First when i was a child, i like to do things with machines then after that I read a book about plants which i always read over and over again.I like also reading books and writing books or poems but now it seems to fade. I also socialize with other people when I was little, i go out from my house together with my sisters meeting our neighborhoods and friends but there was a certain period i stop playing with my friends at those time and took school seriously and that socialization lost it, and i start to realize to socialize again on people since i don't socialize on others though. Since grade 1, I always have my club on schools on art esp. drawing but this present time I think i just lost it,, then about animals,, then on psychology (both human behavior and the unexplained things, which is parapsychology) then on architectural designs esp. the Chinese architecture design.. I like also doing business, as I help my uncle, who is honestly poor, find money, I too also want to find money and help him since he also helped my mother years ago before I was born. I also love to sing not rock or anything but ballad or songs with nice rhythm melody and songs with meaningful lyrics. When i was little and to dance also but I just dance in cheer dance competitions since it is intramurals. Now, I listen to classical music and play the piano myself, self studying as we call it, which just started exactly a year ago. But I have no exceptional skill on it yet. Then i have a plan to buy a violin the learn it. I am also fond of surfing the net. Coz you know I am a curious person curious about the world especially when dealing with science. You see my interest and hobbies vary greatly and it is nonstop. I am just 15. My quality index on Intermediate algebra is high average, while on biology it is above average this is according to CENTER FOR EDUCATIONAL MEASUREMENT, INC.. And honestly I hate a little of Biology esp. on cells , reproduction thingy. I am also an observant person but i usually do things at my self, i don't mingle with people too much, So what can you say about me? In the future what could I be? Am I gifted? Or was I gifted? What should have been done yesterday? What should I do today? Also I am a heartbroken person sometimes.. i am also addicted to scrabble but because of the interference of my piano self studying skills, it seems to fade away!! I also dreamed of making piano pieces especially etudes when i grow up.. I aslo daydream on things like that, seeing myself as a great person who is skillful or like htat!!
(Re-posted) Is this personal statement okay..? please read.? My first memory of enjoying art and design was from a young age, as I had won an art box set for Best Sketchbook, in year 2003. Also achieving first place in a Rangoli competition, I feel my drawing and designing skills have grown from this. I have always been interested in making and creating new things by using scrap materials, different mediums, textures and colours. Over the years, I have become more independent with my work and thoughts, which I gained throughout my A-levels. I have wanted to pursue a career in interior architecture for a while now and am eager to express and explore it through university. The possible chance to shape, life style and surroundings, is incredible. Interior architect being a unique subject; it fascinated me that the environment we live in is enjoyed by people on an everyday-basis. I recently took on some voluntary work experience, which amongst other features involved an element of interior work. This encouraged me to be creative and do first-hand decision making for layouts, themes and furnishings, and being responsive to their needs. Currently doing a foundation diploma, I have gained more independence with my work and ideas, as well as broadening my mind about the use of materials by being more experimental. Slowly beginning to push the creativity side of me, it has expanded the way my mind works and thinks, in terms of analysing and reflecting on my own creations. Interior architecture is not only having a skill but also a combination of creativity and imagination, which I think many designers have such as Rachel Ashwell that I aspire to be like. Whilst being in America this summer, I had come across Mint Museum of Art situated in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was filled with a range of art from ancient, contemporary to decorative textile and sculptures. The artwork was from broad variety of cultures, and I personally had enjoyed the insights of ethnicity, which was portrayed through the work. Recently visiting an exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts, I found the sketches and insight of architectural work done by Sir Nickolas Grimshaw, very interesting. I admire the thought process and amount of detail included in his developments, which for me shows the connection between problem solving and originality. Also visiting Anish Kapoor’s gallery in London, I was amazed at the artwork, because it was so neat and expressive. I find when observing the sculptures, it makes the mind work in a different way due to it being surreal and attractive. I want to study interior architecture because, I am intrigued by the opportunity to explore and learn, which can allow me to be expressive and development my strengths. I feel enthusiastic about designing and making, so being a hardworking person, I am open to challenges. I believe overcoming challenges can only further improve minds, and increase the ability to expand our thinking. Therefore I am eager about the prospect of working with others, to see how their interpretations and aspirations vary from my own; as well as gain an insight and inspiration from contrasting works.

UT at Austin-Transfer (Architecture)? Hey! I am currently a student at a community college. I am planning on applying to so many Architecture schools in Texas, yet my main goal is to get into UT at Austin. I wonder does anyone know, from experience, how hard it is to get into that particular school. I want to know what it really takes to get in. Is my GPA a large part of that decision, with my GPA being a 3.0? I am not a Straight “A” student, but I do have three recognitions in competitions (High School Drafting). Also, at my college, I, along with a friend started a club for those who want to major in engineering and architecture. This past summer I also went to Europe and visited a lot of countries, including Farchitectural, masterpiecesland, etc. I saw so many architectural masterpieces and historical places. I am not sure if this is good enough. I do have some designs and works of art that include drawings, and pictures. How hard is it? I am a first generation student. I am the first to go to college in the U.S. I need as much advice as I can get to not miss a thing. THANKS! Excuse my lengthy question. =) -Sony I am really liking these answers! Now you guys got me thinking! Thanks alot. I'll keep looking through all! =)
