What is the name of the company at brought networking technology to the commercial market? The 4 founders of this company stole the software and hardware designs from the government and built a company that eventually was worth 1.123 billion dollars. One of the founders name is Dennis Fairclough. Dose anyone know the story The 4 founders were originally working for the government's ARPA net at a government contractor. They blackmailed their supervisor and walked out the door with 100 million dollars of government paid research on IP packet switching and DNS resolution software. There is a hidden story here that has never been told. The original company first began to fail for lack of funding, then a big business man came and and bought it up. When this big business man found out about the theft he fired the remaining of the 4 founders. Novell is right, what was it called before Novell? I'm in SD and need to rough in the boiler room. Thanks for the responses, that's enough to get me going, just what I was looking for. Regarding the last comment, about the choice of system, unfortunately it's not our decision to make, and the owner has an engineer who is ready to implement a proprietary individual metering device for billing.

I have a question for those in the construction industry.? I am a service person who went into a commercial building to make a repair, while I was there I noticed signs of a major construction flaw that could potentially cause harm or even death to those people who work in the building. Should I make a big deal about this and file a formal complaint with the state and potentially cause the loss of jobs for the engineer who designed the building and the inspector who approved the plans or should I just fix the problem and let it go. The building is only 3 years old and anyone with any sort of education in the field should have noticed the problem before the building was erected.

We are building a model city w/ 3 sections; Industrial, Residential, Commercial.? The city design we have is a big 8ft by 8ft square[outer-most]. Pitless elevator for commercial applications? I am currently designing a (theoretical) library building on stilts. Is there a pitless elevator in the market for commercial applications? Even if my project is theoretical, it has to be buildable. I only know of the "Rise" by ThyssenKrup, which is for residential applications (http://www.progressiveelevators.com/PDFs/bro.rise.pdf). Thanks
What whould you design? For a Civil Engineering & Architecture class in school we have a project where we have to design (using revit architecture 2009) and build a scale model of any commercial building. we can choose any type of building to design (school, bowling alley, prison, sports complex, shopping mall, etc). but we are limited to things that do not have an age requirement to use (bars, gentle mans clubs, etc). if you could choose, what would you design? be as creative as you want in submitting ides. we are working in pairs, there are 5 groups in my clas (very small class). the other groups have chosen a health spa, a sports stadium, a prison, and a rec center. i cant do any of these, so i need other ideas wenda, im not really sure why you recommended that website, there is nothing on there about ideas for commercial buildings. im not even sure what that company does, but im pretty sure it wont help me in this project. i still need ideas, i cant do a football stadium(som1 else is), a victorian house is a residential structure, not a commercial one, a computer system isnt a building at all, and the skyscraper/ eifle tower will be far too complicated to create a scale model. im NOT looking to redesign something thats already there, im supposed to be taking a general type of building and designing it the way i want. i wish i knew what a modular cube solarium was.. thats sounds cool, but nerdy.
suggestion for name for my eco-friendly building? it is a mid-rise building that is a mixed development(residential-commercial) it is designed to revolutionize the way these mixed use buildings are designed because it is more eco-friendly and supports/encourages residents to change their lifestyles to a more sustainable future. THE BUILDING FEATURES the first two floors are sleek and curving garden floors, with plants, curving concrete pathways and grass...this 2-level garden houses commercial establishments along a concrete pathway and doubles as a gallery that shows people in the community how we can take care of the environment and how beautiful and comfortable eco-buildings can be. the next 7 storeys are for the tenants of the development, it houses 1 bedroom, 2-3 bedroom, 3-4 bedroom (two floor) units.....the units have spaces that are flexible(can be expanded and configured in a number of ways) and has garden balconies 1.5m by 8m in a way this development is like this project in dallas --http://www.inhabitat.com/2009/06/10/revision-dallas-xero-project-will-paint-the-town-green/ and the residential units look something like these mobile homes, very flexible and configured in a number of ways---http://sustain.ca/ please help me pick out a name for the building, thanks!
I have a question about being an architect? I'm 16, and i've always been interested in architecture. But I'm not sure it's for me, I might want to design (not build) houses and commercial buildings for others to build, is that what an architect does? Also, I've heard its a pain becoming one and it's expensive like for school (also I've heard you have to give speeches frequently in school and stuff, terrifying!!). Is any of this true? And is it worth it and could you still design at least houses without becoming one?
If WTC Buildings 1 & 2 were designed to withstand multiple hits from 757's why did Building 7 blow up? Both the towers were designed to withstand multiple hits from commercial 757's...so why did WTC building 7 that wasn't even close to these two buildings blow up into a fine pile of dust? Not even the FBI or Official Story could come up with a logical explanation to why Building 7 imploded in on itself. What's up?
What is the best tail design for an RC plane? If I want to build an RC plane by scratch, what is the best tail design, a commercial tail, a t-tail where the horizontal stabilizer is on top of the vertical stabilizer, or a V wing, like a predator UAV? If my pilot is a beginer-intermidiate RC flier, what is the best, most stable design for the lane? And please, do not tell me to just buy a kit. I want a high wing dual propeller rc plane
is there a designing software that will allow me to do this? I'm in the process of building a large ballroom. I've seen the design your own house software that allow you to do something of this sort is there such thing for commercial use? Or can you use that for a project this big? Also what is a good interior design program? Any help would be appreciated.

I need help designing and building a pasta bridge? I have money wagered on this contest, so it is important I get the best design. RULES: I can use any kind of commercial brand pasta The bridge must be made solely of pasta and glue. Winner is the legal bridge with the highest official load divided by bridge weight (most efficient). I guess I didn't make this clear. I too had a balsa wood competition in 8th grade and came in first place (what school did you go to? do i know you?). Anyways, I want the diagrams of the exact design.
How much to charge to web design a Ecommerce Site? I know it's hard question answer and I know everyone says it depends. Im a freelance web designer and I have built Commercial sites in the past but never a Ecommerce site before. It is a small gift shop that wants a shopping cart and be able to accept credit cards. Should I give a flat fee for x amount of items to put on the site. Or should I charge per item. They said there is around 100 - 200 items I would have to: -Take a photo of the item -crop the picture -upload the picture and put in on the site. -create the add to shopping cart button for the item How would I deal with upkeep with the site should I charge for a service contract for 6, 12 months? How much should I charge for all this. Nothing crazy just html and the shopping cart.

do spheres really experience less heat loss than other shapes? i am about to do an experiment on shapes and how their surface area relates to the amount of heat loss. I am wondering if a sphere is the ideal shape because of it has minimal surface area while having the greatest volume. The goal of my assignment is to design and build a prototype (can be a model) of an aspect for water heating in a solar home(meaning it has to be energy efficient). This design has to be innovative which is why i chose a sphere (since it SHOULD reduce heat loss compared to commercial cylinders). Any feedback would be great thanks!

Song on Dell commercial? The commercial with the people in a line who walk into the building through one door and then walk out through the other door. Then, it shows people holding up their personalized laptop. The guy with long hair has a wood-patterned one, the girl has a modern-groove design. What is the song for that commercial?
Economics tells everyone to specialize for the most effectiveness and most money; why not for politics too? If life has taught us anything, it is to specialize, specialize, specialize. It's basic economics; the more specialized you are, the better you are at your job, and the more money you make. If you're a systems analyst, you aren't trusted to judge the value of the many-worlds hypothesis (physics). If you're a middle school teacher, you aren't trusted to judge the moral philosophy of Marx and Nietzsche. If you're a theoretical physicist, you aren't trusted to give accurate nutritional advice. If you're a businessman, you aren't trusted to know how to design a building safely. If you're a janitor, you aren't trusted to give intelligent psychiatric advice. So, if an American citizen is not an economist, a political philosopher, an ethicist, and a public administrator, why would he/she be trusted to make an intelligent decision on how the country should be run? Other fields require only the specialization of a single skill, of a single set of related skills. To judge the truthfulness and utilitarian usefulness of political and public policy actions, one would need not only specialize in ONE area, but in MANY areas, since government encompasses all things. Therefore, governing accurately, justly, and efficiently requires one to be not just intelligent, but super-intelligent and knowledgeable in all of the issues relating to political governance. However, the foundation of our government does not incorporate these people, nor does it even incorporate those who specialize in just one area related to public policy. Instead of raising the high standards necessary for a good government, we have counterintuitively lowered the standards; everyone can vote. Americans give legitimacy to the democratic system by obeying its results (or, if they don't obey the results, most often they claim election fraud, which is still demonstrating their underlying trust of the majority's decision). Isn't this just a noble lie, that democracy (or a representative republic) is the best regime? Now, it is true that with less popular representation comes a greater chance of exploitation and oppression. However, keep in mind that Americans are already psychologically exploited to a great extent; we spent over 1 billion dollars total in the previous election, but how many of those people that contributed actually knew exactly what they were talking about, politically? (1 billion dollars is equal to the amount that some 33 thousand average people would contribute to their household income in a year.) All of the mindless, irrelevant campaign commercials exploit us intellectually, as well, giving many citizens their overconfident political hubris. People today decide their vote from: * listening to the biased, politically illiterate media, which knows next to nothing about critical thinking * A few biased, meaningless 30-second advertisements made by the candidate themselves * Peer pressure just to list a few. Do most voters understand logical fallacies, critical thinking, political philosophy, or even basic economics? Are they intelligent enough to make accurate judgments on how 300 million people should be governed? My answer is no. What do you think? Note, when I'm talking about the idiotic voters, I am referring primarily to people like you, you Yahoo Answers people. Who else would spend their time on the anonymous internet answering useless questions for the purpose of gaining useless points? (and, in this politics section, for spreading ideology)
new name for my eco-friendly condominium project? my thesis is an innovative and eco-friendly mixed use (residential commercial) complex and i am looking for a good name for my project. Should i become an Architect or a Structural Engineer? I'm confused on which would best suit me, if you can help me out i would appreciate it. Here a quick list of what im looking for. I want to. Build commercial buildings, sky rise buildings, bridges and so forth Im interested in the actual design of the building I.E what makes it stand, what supports it? I want to sit down and draw out how the building will look then travel to the field and check on my creation on each step it takes. Im not artistically inclined but i love sketching even though it looks like poop. I want to be an important part of the building process i dont just want to draw things thats not me. i dont want to be someone who makes sure the structure is safe and never does anything else. i also want to decide what material are actually used in the building process. any ideas which of the 2 best suits me?

How would You grade my paper on nuclear fusion? Nuclear fusion reactions that occur in our Sun produce huge amounts of energy. Is there any way to harness nuclear fusion reactions here on earth to produce electricity? No commercial nuclear fusion power plants currently exist, but some researchers hope that technologies can be invented to bring fusion power into production in an environmentally friendly way. Many governments have the same hope and have invested billions of dollars in pursuit of this dream. The centre of our Sun is very hot-about 15 million degrees celsious. For many decades, researchers have looked for a practical way to recreate the conditions at the centre of our Sun. They have produced extremely hot temperaturs during nuclear explosions, but this is not a practical way of producing electricity. An added challenge is that no container made of matter can contain gases that are as hot as the centre of our Sun. Any type of container would melt long before reaching those temperatures. However, there is another way to contain hot gases- with a strong magnetic field. How can you use a magnetic field to hold gases? hot gases lose electrons, turning all the atoms into ions. An ionized gas is called plasma. In a fusion power reation, a magnetic filed traps hydrogen plasma. One reactor design uses an electromagnet posiitoned in the shape of a doughnut. The hot plasma stays inside the doughnut and away from the magnets used to generate the magnetic field. Currently, a number of existing experimental facilities are suing this technology. Given thse tremendous challenges as well as huge development costs, why even bother to try to build a fusion power facility? If it could be made to work, fusion power is expected to have a number of advantages. The materials needed for fusion-isotopes of hydrogen-are as plentiful as the oceans themselves. Also, the products of nuclear fusion are expected to be stable isotopes, meaning that there might be no radioactive wastes to worry about. Finally a small amount of fusion produces a tremendous amount of enery.
What do these people who put all the rap garbage out there for people to listen to have in common? What if Ayala Land will build another condo at Legazpi Village Mkati near Legazpi Park, will you invest in it? Community Innovations Inc. an Ayala Land company will have a new project. Senta is 200 meters away from Greenbelt and a stone throw’s away from the Makati Central Business District’s top corporate and commercial offices. Senta’s architectural design will feature a full glass corner façade, which will be illuminated to ensure its mark as the landmark structure of Legazpi Village.
Why is it that in these commercials for pills? Why do they have this huge, white, modernly architectural design for some guy to walk around it and tell you that you should take this pill for heart disease or whatever? Why does it have to be a big weird building? I don't get the advertisement psychology in there. I'm interested in advertisement! That's why I want to know. I might even go to college for this. But i've been told a couple of times that I think too much. I do think things over way too much.
Getting work experience in graphic design? Hi, I'm a second year graphic design student. In July I'll have a month break so I'm thinking of finding a job. It must be related to graphic design, cos I want to gain some work experience, I don't care if it is paid work or non paid work. I already have a target, it is a graphic design company located just upstair in at my college. (My college is located in a commercial building in a very 'high class' suburb) And I think this is why I want to work there so much even if they won't paid me. I had a look of the company website, (and it looks crap seriously) I only find one email address, so if I want to ask them if I can work there for maybe once or two days a week for some experience, do you think I should email my resume to that address? Or should I ask before sending the resume? I'm not confidence because I firstly have no pervious work experience and secondly english is my weakness...
What do you call this look? My wife and I really like the "old city building" look... lots of brick and exposed pipes and ducts, tin ceilings... I was thinking it was called "industrial design" but that means something like commercial design. I would like to do some googling, but I'm not sure what to look for. Any ideas? Or do you know of some good idea sources? Thanks in advance!
Good Career Choice? Ok, I currently live in Pearl, Miss. I do not know what is in high demand here, or where to look to find out. But I do know, I need help on deciding a career, I enjoy too many things. I work on and build computers, I have built and raced some cars, I draw and do alot of illustrations for stories of mine. I write short novels and poetry, I do alot of writing and artistic stuff. I love designing and building things, whether its commercial, industrial, residential, or automotive. what would be a good career down the road that is high in demand?
Which hosting option works best for a fledgling website developer? I had someone ask me to develop a website for his business (he wants to do it cheap). I tried to talk him out of it, because I'm inexperienced at doing business websites. It's a learning experience for me, so I agreed to do it for FREE! Here's the thing: I've developed websites before, but for organizations and churches, and personal use. Never for a business: different audience and set of requirements, and goals. What's the best hosting/domain-name solution for a commercial site? My preference is to do everything with one outfit: hosting, registration, and site building, like GoDaddy. But is that the best way? Is there any justification for using separate companies to handle the hosting, and registration, then I would create the site from scratch using NetObjects or FrontPage (which would require a great deal more design/build time). What's your advice? (aside from comments like "just hire a professional," etc.)
Can someone help me with this Electric Circuit Problem? 1.) Design each of the circuits specified in the Procedure section of this lab. Your design should attempt to get within § 5 % of the specified gain. All designs are to use standard commercial 5 % resistors. You may only use a single resistor for each calculated value. 2.) Your designs must include bias compensation. This means that the resistance to ground (with all sources dead) must be approximately the same at the ¡ and + input terminals. (When all sources are dead, both the input and the output appear to be grounded.) Procedure The op-amp chip that you will be using, the LM747, comes in a 14-pin DIP PACKAGE, which stands for dual in-line pin package. The two rows of seven pins are arranged with 0.1 inches between pins and 0.3 inches between rows. The pin-out diagram is shown in Figure 1. This diagram illustrates the top view of the chip. The end of the chip with the #1 pin is identified by both the notch and the dot. The LM747 requires a dual power supply in most applications. A positive voltage with respect to ground is supplied to the V+ pins and a negative voltage with respect to ground to the single V¡ pin. The power supply ground, by itself, Please click here to view Figure 1 http://img13.imageshack.us/my.php?image=14182423.jpg Please click here to view Figure 2 http://img17.imageshack.us/my.php?image=87288373.jpg is not needed by the chip. It will be used, however, as a reference for your signals. The proper power connections are illustrated in Figure 2. When you test each of your designs, measure the gain using a DC input voltage. Be careful that the output of the op-amp is not being saturated. You can check this by cutting the input by a factor of, say, two, and verifying that the output is reduced by the same factor. If the relationship does not hold, you are saturating the output by applying too strong of an input signal to the amplifier. Use the white breadboards to build your circuits. Secondly, test the gain of each circuit using a 1 kHz, AC signal. Again, watch for saturation, but this time increase the input until the output obviously saturates. Then reduce the input enough to have a “clean” output. 1.) Inverter — Design, build, and test an inverter that has a gain of -15 and an input resistance of at least 1 kW. Orderliness of your wiring is important. If you are not careful, you will have a non-working circuit or even a dead op-amp. The chips are easy to burn out via electro-static discharge, and do not do anything spectacular when they go (such as smoke). 2.) Non-inverter—Design, build, and test a non-inverting circuit with a gain of 15 and an input resistance of at least 1 kW. 3.) Summer — Design, build, and test a summing amplifier that produces an output of Input1+2 ¢ Input2. The input resistance of each input should be at least 2 kW. 4.) Cascaded Amplifier—Design, build, and test a non-inverting amplifier with a gain of 25 and an input resistance of at least 50 kW. Do this without using any outlandish resistors. (For example, try cascading two op-amps together, each with a smaller gain.)
What steps to host/ design/ build my own funky personal website? Hello! I'd be grateful for advice on building my own website. As a hobby, I'd like to create a personal, non-commercial site. I've got no knowledge of HTML, CSS etc. I already own a domain name to use (registered with free hosting with Bravenet), though I don't like their templates or the style of the free adverts. - What can I do about this? (e.g. moving the domain name/ hosting) - What do I do next in terms of designing/ building my website? - Any general recommendations on: hosting/ designing/ building (easy-to-use software/ WYSIWYG website builders etc.) If someone could give me a link to a "How to build a cool website for beginners" guide, I'd be delighted!!! I know exactly the kind of "look" I want and I'm raring to go with the content- I just don't where to start! Thank you in advance. Scotty
Lazy coworkers that cause you to work long hours because they don't do their share of the work on a project? I am a commercial artist, and my "full-time job" is designing, editing, and publishing magazines. There is a ton of production work in producing an 84-page mag. I am supposed to share the graphics work with a colleague, but he NEVER HELPS me, and takes days - sometimes a week - to finish very simple, small advertisements that any normal artist can do in an hour or two. We just recently published a magazine and I worked nearly 90 hours last week building ads, editing copy, designing pages, et cetera. I received no help from my colleague, who left early almost every day that week. I work in a small office, and do not want to cause drama. Our Publisher won't say anything to this person, despite me, the Advertising Director and the Salespeople complaining about him nearly every day. What should I do? Technically, this guy is the Art Director, so I can't really "pull rank" and make him do things. I do not want to quit my job, but am at the end of my rope. What should I do? My Publisher will not fire the guy. Eight months ago, he told me that he was firing him and giving me a raise and another full-time artist. That was the only time I have ever even heard him say anything about it. This guy calls in at least twice a week, and all of the other employees (include me) laugh and wonder if he is somehow holding something over our Publisher's head. It sounds ridiculous, but there is little else we can think of as to why our boss would keep this guy on staff.
Beginner's guide to how to design/ build a website- how do Photoshop, Fireworks, Dreamweaver all fit together? Hello! I'd be grateful for advice on designing/ building my own website. As a serious hobby, I'd like to create a personal, non-commercial site. I've got no knowledge of HTML, CSS etc..... yet! - How do I begin? - How do I design the website (e.g. the look, layout, background, header etc.) - How do I add images/ content? - How do I add features such as photos, videos, podcasts, contact page etc. designed to fit in with the style and look of the website? - What functions do Photoshop, Fireworks and Dreamweaver all play separately and together in the process of designing/ building a website? It'd also be great if someone could point me to beginner's guides/ tutorials. Thank you in advance. Scotty

I have two questions For those who are familair with this program, I would like to know what are the pros n cons of Using Autocad Revit FOR 3D RENDERING of building structures like homes and commercial buildings Also who are autocad Revit's competitors in the 3d rendering industry for structural design building.
How do I choose the flow rate for a pump in sprinkler system? For example 400 GPM @7 bar.kzaman07@hotmail.com? I am new in this field of sprinkler system installation in UAE. I am looking for several answers which are not clear in my mind. Finally I am knocking at your door for help. Could you please answer me the following questions: 1. How do we choose the flow rate for a pump in sprinkler system? For example 400 GPM @7 bar. From where I will get this GPM? 2. For designing a sprinkler system what area we must consider. For example in a commercial building of 3 floors we have 500 sprinklers from which about 160 sprinkler per floor. Should we take all 500 under considerations? Or how I will have to proceed for designing? Should I take the areas of all floors under consideration? Looking forward for your reply. Kind Regards Kamrujjaman

Should I buy this and turn it into a home? It seems quite big to be a house and it has a parking lot. But, I love the design. I am not interested in buying a regular house; I like to be unique. $800,000 Commercial Real Estate Loan needed ASAP!? My Partners and I are providing capital investments needed for operating capital, décor and design, however, our corporation needs $800,000 financing to procure the building and existing equipment for the restaurant location selected. The financing is required to begin work on kitchen design, architectural plans, manuals and recipe books, additional equipment purchases, and to cover expenses in the first year of business. We are getting this building for a steal. Does anyone have recommendations on which company (no banks) I can work with? I live in Florida but willing to work with companies anywhere in the USA. Already conducted due diligence. Business plan including performa available.
Are you for Obama's United Socialist States of America? United Socialist States of America? We have a socialist retirement system. We have a socialist health care system for the elderly. We have automobile and aviation companies on the verge of bankruptcy or government ownership due to legislation and regulation in oil prices that could be half of what they are if Congress got out of the way. Look at me. The problem with General Motors and Ford and Chrysler and domestic auto manufacturers is not that they don't know how to run their business. They are all kicking butt internationally. Ford, General Motors are selling cars out the wazoo internationally. You know what they don't face? The same kind of onerous regulation they have here. You want to fix the Ford auto industry, General Motors, local, domestic auto industry, just get rid of the CAFE standards. The idea that people that run the auto companies do not know how to make cars that people want has been obscured by the fact that they've been forced to make cars fitting mandates offered by government, people in government who have never built a car, have never designed a car, have never marketed nor sold a car. Just get government out of their way, and then let 'em sink or swim on their own. How is it that all three of them are up the creek? All three of them face the same onerous regulations. What about oil prices and the effect on the price of a car and the mileage and the kind of car you want? Get Washington out of the way on that, not this phony bill that Nancy Pelosi ushered through the House. We can drill everywhere there isn't oil now, and you know why they had to usher this through? 'Cause they knew it was a losing issue for them. We had 'em right between the eyes. We had 'em right in the palm of our hands. They were on the wrong side of this drill, drill, drill, right here, right now, business, so they usher through this stupid thing. It's the same, the Gang of Ten, gang of 16, now gang of 20 in the Senate -- oh, yeah, we're going to allow drilling, we're going to drill, drill, drill, but it's gotta be further than 50 miles offshore. Most of the oil is closer than that, so Big Oil has been told go ahead and invest and drill where there isn't any oil, which they won't do. Smoothing cedar fence boards – surface plane? Or drum sand? I am planning to rebuild a fence using common cedar fence boards. These are sold wet and rough. The last time I built, I cured the lumber for 3 months. I used a belt sander to smooth all sides. It came out really nice, but the sanding was no fun: 3 days of vibration, “sawdust-snowman”, inhaling cedar dust, cedar splinters in my eyes. At the time I told myself, “next time I am buying/renting a machine to smooth these boards”. I was thinking about a portable surface planer and rigging a vacuum exhaust. But I am not sure that the planer can handle all the warping cedar fence boards tend to have. Would a surface planner work for my application? I’ve also seen surface drum sanders, and I know these are specifically designed for this application. But it seems like there are only commercial (ie >$500) machines available? Any ideas?

I need Rule of Thumb for the following.? New to Electrical design in dubai , so it would be so useful for me for my career. 1. How to calculate the total electrical load for a Commercial, Residential Building , Hotel appts, including the AC load , I need it in KW/ Sq. Mtr or KW/ Sq. Ft. (if it would be in a break up also it will be so helpful, I mean for light, for power & for AC) 2. Design the lights as per the required lux level, i mean ie.the distance between 2 lights points in array (means length & width wise) to accure 100lux,200lux,400lux,1000 lux,1500lux etc. I think it would be so so helful if i could get this details in brief
how airbus gain in market share affect the legitimacy of claims for subsidies? in december 2003, Boeing announced it would go ahead with the development of its latest commercial jetliner, the 7E7, which Boeing will position against Airbus's popular A330 aircraft. The "E" in the Boeing 7E7 stands for 'efficient.' By making extensive use of new composite and engine technology, Boeing hopes to reduce the aircraft's operating costs by as much as 20 percent compared to a traditional design. If it is successful, this will make the plane a potent competitor against the best-selling A330. however, the 7E7, now renamed the 787, is a risky project for Boeing. The aircraft will cost about $7 billion to develop, according to industry estimates, and demand is uncertain. To share the costs and risks of development Boeing has taken on several partners who will help to design and build the 787. Most important among these are a trio of three Japanese companies, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, and Fuji Heavy Industries. Collectively, these three companies will probably build as much as 35 percent of the 787 by value, including parts of the fuselage, wings, and landing gear. They will ship the finished components to everett, Washington, for final assembly. These three companies are longtime Boeing partners. They contributed about 21 percent by value to Boeing's last new jetliner, the Boeing 777. Although there has been a long history of development subsidies in the commercial aerospace industry, a 1992 agreement between Boeing and Airbus limits the state aid either company can get from their respective governments. Airbus, now a private company, is limited to repayable launch aid that must not exceed one-third of the development costs of a new aircraft. The launch aid has to be repaid only if aircraft sales are high enough for Airbus to turn a profit on the investment in a new plane. As for Boeing, indirect aid from U.S. government agencies such as R&D contracts from the Pentagon and NASA are capped at 4 percent of its total revenues. It is unclear if the 1992 agreement extends to other parties in the projects. The Japenese Aircraft Development Corporation, an association of Japanese aircraft makers, has asked the Japanese government for help with the 787 project. The country's Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry has submitted a budget request that would make the 787 a "national project. Newspaper reports put the request at about $1.5 billion. Upon hearing this, Airbus officials were quick to claim that the arrangement could violate several international agreements, including a 1994 WTO prohibition against subsidies that can harm competitors. Behind the scenes, Airbus executives started to urge the European Union to look at the issue and possibly file a case on their behalf. They also noted that Boeing received aid from the states of Washington and Kansas, where its factories are located, and that also constitutes an unfair subsidy that was outside the scope of the 1992 agreement. In mid-2004, the issue became even more contentious when the u.s. government demanded an end to airbus's launch aid. airbus had already been granted lans of 3.7 billion to develop its latest aircraft, the A380 super-jumbo, but what really got attention in america were signs from airbus that it would also build a direct competitor to the 787, the A350, and ask for launch aid to help cover the development costs of that plane. Estimates suggested the lunch aid for the A350 could total $1.3 billion. furthermore, in 2004 airbus surpassed boeing in global market share. American officials felt that given the strength of the company, subsidies were no longer appropriate. In late 2004, the EU and U.S. government entered into negotiations to try to resolve the dispute, but talks ended in March 2005 with no agreement. The dispute now goes to the World Trade Organization, which must rule on the legality of the various subsidies. Meanwhile, Boeing is starting to pile up orders for the 787, and industry observers speculate that the longer launch aid for an airbus competitor is stalled in legal limbo, the less likely Airbus will be to go ahead with the plane.
NAFTA superhighway? What is the purpose of this? Highway 407 toll-road helps provide proof that U.S. Ambassador is misleading Canadians on fascistic NAFTA superhighway agenda by Paul Chen U.S. Ambassador to Canada David Wilkins. The Highway 407 toll-road, helps provide proof that U.S. Ambassador to Canada, David H. Wilkins, is misleading Canadians on the construction of a North American Free Trade (NAFTA) Superhighway, to enable the creation of a fascistic North American Union. On 8 December 2004, the Canoe Network that is associated with the Sun Newspaper Chain, in Christina Blizzard's article "Hwy 407: Que Pasa?", reported that Cintra, witch is part of a Spanish Consortium, owns the 407 toll-road. It had been a public mystery, why would a company all the way from Spain, spend the time to own and construct a toll-road. Even more of a mystery to me, had been, why would government in Canada award a foreign Spanish bid over a Canadian company? The Coalition to Block the North American Union revealed that the same Cintra company is behind the Trans-Texas Toll-Road Corridor. Map shows apparent intent to eventually link the Spanish built 407 toll-road, to the Trans-Texas corridor, owned by the same Spanish consortium. Maps accredited to the North American Forum on Integration (NAFI), which is a non-profit organization based in Montreal, clearly reveals an apparent intention to link Cintra's Trans-Texas Corridor to the Hwy 407 Toll-Road, which clearly appears to be being built toward Ottawa, within a vast integrated continental toll network. The 407 Toll-Road in turn was being planned since the late 1980's, and supports the assertion by the Coalition against the North American Union, that the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP), was a part of the agendas of both former Prime Ministers Mulroney and the U.S. President at that time, even before its formal signing in 2005. Map of the Spanish corporate private owned 407 toll-road around the Greater Toronto Area. The Trans-Texas Corridor is being designed to provide U.S. and certain Canadian Big Business interests, with easier access to the importing of the outsourced manufacturing of goods, from a further exploited Mexican labour pool, as well from a further exploited Chinese labour pool. U.S. and certain Canadian corporations which have also been exploiting Chinese labour, have been planning a NAFTA superhighway linked with enhanced port connections, to further increase the ability of Big Business interests to make exploitative commercial profit. Spanish corporate built NAFTA-NAU Superhighway: Looking east from the Highway 50 overpass towards the Highway 407/427 interchange. This interchange is a large 4-level interchange. U.S. Ambassador to Canada, David H. Wilkins wrote in the Ottawa Citizen on Monday, August 20, that "while conspiracy theories abound, you can take it to the bank that no one involved in these discussions is interested in, or has ever proposed a "North American Union", a "North American super highway," or a "North American currency". The first thing to appreciate is that owners of CanWest Global that owns the Ottawa Citizen have been principal financial donors to Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Conservative Party of Canada. Mr. Harper who is a principal ally of the Bush administration, is also a signatory of the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP). Therefore, CanWest Global's provision of editorial space to Mr. Wilkins can be seen as an attempt to manipulate the masses through political propaganda. Spanish built NAFTA-NAU Superhighway: Looking east along Highway 407 from the Bathurst Street overpass in Thornhill. Bathurst Street is located roughly at kilometre marker 75. Notice Highway 7 running through the left-side of this photo. Between Dufferin Street and Bayview Avenue, Highway 407 parallels Highway 7 very closely. Secondly, there is ample proof that a NAFTA superhighway is currently being constructed. The NAFTA superhighway is being constructed and developed to facilitate the Big Business agenda that indeed seeks to create an anti-democratic "North American Union". The curiosity of the Hwy 407 toll-road under Spanish corporate ownership is apparent proof of in Canada, of such a SPP-North American Union (NAU) transportation network, that is to be linked with an American toll-road network, with the same ownership. The "NAFTA superhighway", is to become a series of very wide toll-roads to stretch all the way into Canada's north, to rape and pillage Canada's environmental heritage for elite interests connected to a U.S. political-military-industrial complex. NAFTA superhighway is to facilitate the planned consolidation of Canada as an American colony under the clandestine SPP-NAU agenda. It was former U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower who warned the American people upon his retirement from Office that the political-military-industrial complex constitutes a singular threat to democracy. Dr. Ron Paul is among the critics of the NAFTA superhighway. The U.S. Ambassador to Canada does not seem to be demonstrating candour on the on-going construction of the NAFTA superhighway. "This superhighway would connect Mexico, the United States, and Canada, cutting a wide swath through the middle of Texas and up through Kansas City. Offshoots, would connect the main artery to the west coast, Florida, and northeast. Proponents envision a ten-lane colossus the width of several football fields, with freight and rail lines, fibre-optic cable lines, and oil and natural gas pipelines running alongside," says Ron Paul, who represents Texas in the U.S. Congress. The NAFTA superhighway map and agenda appears to have been generated by leaked documents associated with SPP related proceedings, which various groups have sought to disseminate.
Invested $10M to design patented switching technology. What equity % should I want from $100M VC investor? I have secured multiple patents to a revolutionary technology that could bring substantive improvements to (router, mainframe) switching technology and have identified potential funding in the tens of millions of dollars to fund a startup venture to build the product (which would essentially compete with or eventually -- meaning after 3-5 years of prototype development, commercialization work, etc. -- be bought by Cisco). What percentage of the equity should I together with my small technical team hold out for with the venture financiers? FYI, we have invested about $10M to date and are talking about raising about $100M in phases to build the commercial offering. In all likelihood, we will remain as technical consultants, but will have little influence over the commercialization effort/strategy. Interested in hearing from other tech-saavy entrepreneurs and inventors that have relevant experience, especially in the area of cryogenics and potentially from commercialization partners.

Do you think the A2 (a hypersonic aeroplane) would be possible in the next 25 years.? The project is part of an EU drive to push forward the boundaries of air travel. Scientists were asked to find out if it was possible to build a commercial plane that used the sort of technology more closely associated with travel to the edge of space and beyond. Oxfordshire-based Reaction Engines designs and develops space transport and hi-tech propulsion systems. Its directors are experts in fields ranging from space rockets and weapons systems to nuclear power. Alan Bond, a senior engineer and managing director at the company, said the A2 could be operating within 25 years if there was demand for it. Bond said: "The A2 is designed to leave Brussels international airport, fly quietly and subsonically out into the north Atlantic at mach 0.9 before reaching mach 5 across the North Pole and heading over the Pacific to Australia. "The flight time from Brussels to Australia, allowing for air traffic control, would be four hours 40 minutes.
