Where to live : Canada or USa? My wife (puertorrican- american citizen), my little one (6 months old, canadian- american citizen) and I (canadian-argentinian citizen) live in Toronto, Canada. Since few month ago I was thinking what would be our life in USA. We have visited Houston, TX one year ago. I work as mechanical draftsperson (Autocad and Solidworks) my wife is administrative assistant, our english is good but not the best, we have spanish accent in our english. My wife has sicked cell anemia and we don't know how medical insurance will covers her in USA. Canada is very good country with universal medical insurance which covers my wife and my whole family. We are paying our modest house. I am thinking that maybe there are more opportunity in USA, since I want to change of work and there is not many opportunities right here. If we will move to USA we are going to do with legal papers. How are the opportunities in USA (Houston)? How is the economy? How are the medical insurance when you have a pre- existing condition like my wife has?
Which program/career should I choose to look into? I know this may seem unbelievably LONG, but I really need help & if you take time to read it completely and answer it, you will be helping me greatly, now & for my future:) Where I live, we have a Technical & Career Center and on February 18th, it is Sophomore Visitation day. What that consists of, is sophomores from surrounding schools going there to look into different careers they are interested in, so that their Junior & Senior years, they can take classes there, getting them ready for college & their future careers. I have decided to go, but am unsure about two different programs. I am interested in Interior Design, but don't know which program to go to. You can choose two programs to look into that day, so I was thinking that I could go to both, but I am maybe interested in becoming a teacher, so their Early Childhood Education program is an option as well. Remember, I can only choose TWO. These are the programs that I am unsure which one would be better for Interior Design : ADVERTISING DESIGN & PRODUCTION Career Opportunities : Advertising Coordinator Graphic Designer Package Designer Layout Technician Illustrator Description : The Advertising Design & Production Program teaches to the Macintosh Operating System national skills standard & includes software instruction in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver & Flash. This course of study provides students with the basic technological skills necessary for careers in the growing industry. Units of Study : Adevertising & Marketing Basic Compostition & Elements of Design Brochure, Packaging & Publication Design Computer Skills & Design Software Desktop Publishing Illustration & Design Commercial Photography ENGINEERING/CAD Career Oppotrunities : Draftsperson AutoCAD Operator Mechanical Engineer Architect Civil Engineer Description : The Drafting/CAD Program develops students' skills in architectural, mechanical and Computer Aided Design (CAD). Students learn manufacturing design, model building, house designing & drawing, presentation drawing and technical illustration. Units of Study : AutoCAD Release 2007 Blueprint Desktop Mechanical Desktop AutoCAD Inventor Architectural Desktop Mechanical Drawing Technology OSHA 10 Certification - General Industry So, which program is better to look into for interior design? Or should I just look into them both & throw away the teacher idea? You are helping me greatly. Thank you in advance:)

What would you do with this job? Leave? stay? I love my line of work. I'm a draftsperson and love ever second of working on AutoCAD (software) and getting involved with drawings in construction. I get paid really well, for someone in my position, and the location is perfect, etc So i guess your wondering why i'm asking about leaving? Well for the last 12 months i've had no real work to do. I've had little jobs here & there but nothing major. Also because of my 'no work' i've got stuck with crappy paper work & sorting files :( Not what i love doing or what i'm trained for really. Also with no work i've lost my motivation towards my job and i'm starting to forget why i even chose this line of work :( It's because of the Global Financial Crisis that there is no work, but everyone recons the work should be picking up this year blah blah blah So what should i do? A) i find somewhere else to go, not get paid as much but be more rewarding with more work to do, or B) stay and suck it up cos i've got it good and i don't realise it? Also another reason for leaving is all my friends have left. I have ONE person left out of an office of 30 people that i call friend. So the work 'fun' has reduced along with the work load. Should that be considered a factor to leave? It sounds like not enough reasons to leave, but i've been thinking about it for a while and i don't know what to do :( Thanks everyone ♥
