Do the interior design schools have internships or projects for students? I am not creative and don't have any design ideas. I can't afford to pay $75 hour for an interior decorator. Do you know if any interior design schools have internships where the students perform interior decorator projects for a fraction of the cost. My favorite on HGTV is Candace Olson. She can work miracles.

My Community College Counselor is a lazy idiot - Help with Interior Design Schools PLEASE!!? I live in the Los Angeles Area and am looking to transfer from a Community College to a University or Cal State Spring 2009 (hopefully sooner). I am looking for a reputable school for Interior Design that I can obtain a BFA in Interior Design/Architecture. I looked at CSUN but they offer a Bachelor's in Family Science which I thought was weird. Of course there is OTIS and PARSONS which I would love to get into but couldn't ever afford. What options do I have? I need to stay within the area or at least within the State of California as I do not want to pay out of state tuition. Any advice on schools, financing, scholarships?? I barely have a 3.0 GPA and after this semester it may go down a bit but I do have talent and already am building a pretty decent portfolio. Please share your thoughts....I need advice in a bad way. Also, do designers have much success with certificates only?
Do you have to know how to draw to pursue interior design? I'm approaching my final year in high school and I want to go to a post secondary interior design school. Is it possible to get into the programs without having the ability to actually draw them?

I don't have much money, but worse than that, I have no "eye" for decorating. Where do I start? I'd like to hear from someone who has worked with a student designer.
Going to school for interior design? I am torn between interior design and art history...if I would go for interior design, do I actually get a bachelor's degree or is it just a certificate? Also, can anyone recomend good design schools near the Philly region of PA??

Or is this whole idea just a waste of time? I just want to hear a few different opinions before a make a decision. Thanks!
Online interior design school? The Art Institute of Pittsburgh now offers an online Interior Design bachelor's degree program. I have taken some general eds at a local community college, but they do not offer any design courses. Online schooling would give me the flexibility I need while raising my two young children, but I am wondering if this is a program that is better taught in a classroom to have the hands-on teaching. Has anyone done anything like this and did it work for you or not?

What are the top Interior Design/Decorating schools in North Carolina? Currently I'm a senior studying Business Administration(General) and i'm very interested in interior design/decorating. Is there a really great school in North Carolina where I can get hands on experience such as working with interior design computer programs...hands on with putting designs/layouts together? Internships..somewhere that will guarantee a job at the end. A 2-year or 4-year degree. I would like a 2-year degree..because 4years at a university now is enough! But i want something that's longevity. It can be Universities, Colleges, or Techs. Whatevers best. I'm looking at ECU and AI in Charlotte. But someone said AI isn't really hands on. And something not so expensive! THANKS!
