Is there a 3D modeling program...? ... that can take a 3D model of something (in my case a 3D model of a human) and take a cross section of the model and then print out the cross section? I'm doing this for an art project where I plan to take cross sections of a figure, so that I print it on transparency paper and put it in a row spaced apart so that you can see the figure formed by the cross sections. The idea is sort of hard to explain, but explaining the idea doesn't matter as much as getting the prints of the cross sections. Please let me know if there is a program like this, and what the cost of the program would be. I'd prefer a free program that does this if one exists.

How to prioritize myself for my hw and be stress free somehow? I have a ton of hw that is due next week and I need a way to priotize what I need to finish asap before it's due and somehow still go to sleep early. Here's my hw life: 1) remodeling lots of 3d models and objects-about 8 total (maya program for animators and more). 2) Art history paper due-bout 6 pages 3) Writing class-making a storyboard for my story. I was thinking maybe I can write one page a day for my art history hw, and model 1 thing once a day for my 3d maya modeling hw, and storyboard in 1 day for my writing class. I'm not sure if this works, but do you think it could work because all this is due on tuesday and wednesday next week. Just curious and I need to function and not go crazy. Thanks! Building A Roller Coaster Model **BEST ANSWER**? I need to build a model of a roller coaster that I designed on paper. It either has to be: A) Real Model. Like one you cann touch, 3D, made of stuff like balso wood, pipe cleaners, cardboard, etc. I dont want to make this a HUGE project, so nothing that will take longer than a week. B) Virtual Model, 3D Model online, using some sort of free download or something? Sorta like Google Sketch up and stuff, but I think Google Sketchup can only make buildings. So, again, it has to be using either free or cheap(ish) materials, and it can't tke longer than a week (actually, I want it done in around 3 days, working maybe 1-3 hours each day? So sixish hours) And it has to practical. Nothing HUGE, nothing too small, like maybe 2 x 2 x 1 ft. Something smallish, that I can carry, but AGAIN not too small. I dont need it to be, but it would sorta be col if i could also run a small train car or marbel down it for a demonstration I have to do on it, again I dont need to, but it would be cool. Thanks! Where can I find a human animation modeling software for artistic purposes? I'm sure this is a common situation--you have a pose in your head that you want to put down on paper, but it doesn't quite look right. You want to find a human model to actually enact the pose. Are there softwares or animations that will do that? Like basically a computer mannequin. Free softwares would be the best, but if they are not, that's fine too. Note that I'm NOT asking for 3D modeling softwares that actually allow me to MAKE 3D models. I want softwares that will let me change the poses of a human character.

Beginning java programming? I would like to create my own 3D game using java, I've been working with lua for a few years and I can make sense out of codes. I use scratch a lot to make plans for what my game is like and I have planned every single last aspect of the game out on paper and on my computer. I have chosen java because it seems pretty easy to maintain and many things now use java (phones and such) one problem, I have never used anything like java before and I have a few questions: 1. How do I start making the code? I know I can use notepad and I downloaded JDK but it seems to have no effect on my machine at all 2. How do I make the GUI and the world? 3. Which program can I use to make the 3D models without having to learn the texture patterns? 4. How can I edit already existing codes such as games that have already been made? 5. Owner of wurm online, Rolf has sent me a tutorial on java, but I can't make any sense of it and the links spread to pretty much everywhere making it hard to know where to go next. Could you send me a link to a tutorial which can raise me from a beginner to an experienced programmer or make a tutorial for me? 6. I know that java and java script are different, but if I learn java will it aid in learning java script? 7.
