Network design for a high school. What type of LAN architecture suits? Which software and hardware are needed? The school has three computer labs each with 20 computers and 1 monochrome laser printer. There are a further 16 computers in the Library as well as a monochrome laser printer, a color inkjet printer, a flatbed scanner (which is connected to a standalone computer), and a photocopier. Most of the computers are close to five years old, are very slow and have insufficient memory to meet the needs of the students. All teachers have been issued with laptops and desktop computers have been removed from the Staff Room. The school requires that: 1. Wired access for at least one teacher computer is provided in all classrooms, 2. Wireless network access is available in all classrooms as well as some outdoor areas for teachers and students, 3. Students have access to study resources from school and home, 4. Videoconferencing facilities are available. Suggest a type of LAN architecture that is suitable for the school. Please identify all the network hardware and software necessary to build the LAN solution(s) you are proposing. Correlating high profile design software with opensource free ones? I am a start up. I do not have capital but once I do I can put it towards Adobe Creative suite. In the meantime, does anyone know of a site that correlates all the best software with its opensource freeware version? Revit Architecture 2009-How can I calculate the square footage of a flooplan? I am new to the Revit Architecture 2009 software and I can not figure out how to calculate the square footage of floorplans without manually multiplying the square footage of each area and adding them together. Hello, I suppose it's a long shot but I'm a 3rd year architectural student (B.Arch) in the Boston and I'm looking for an internship to bring my education to a professional level. Although a paid internship is preferred I'm also more than happy to volunteer myself to the right firm (20-40hrs a week preferred). I began my design education in high school and have had 5+ years of experience with Autocad and Photoshop though I am also proficient in a number of other software including Revit. In terms of character i'm laid back but still completely dedicated to my work, I love nothing more than to throw myself into a detailed model making for hours on end. Now I want to apply for master of landscaping architecture. I found some universities offer M.L.A for students graduated in other majors. I have to submit a portfolio. How can I start thinking like an software architect? Our company is starting to off-shore alot of our development. The contractors are responsible for coding and bug fixes, and the employees are becoming more and more responsible for designing and architecture...things like modeling and describing to business people how the systems fit together. I really don't know much about this, I've never designed anything. Could someone give some advice on how to start thinking more like an architect, and how to be a better designer? URGENT: Network design for a high school. Which topology, software and hardware are needed? Two schools located approximately a kilometer apart and on opposite sides of a busy road have merged. The larger of the two schools is used as a Junior High School, and the smaller of the two schools as a Senior High School. The computer facilities and networks at the Junior High School were recently upgraded. The computer facilities and networks at the Senior School site are in urgent need of upgrading. The school has three computer labs each with 20 computers and 1 monochrome laser printer. There are a further 16 computers in the Library as well as a monochrome laser printer, a color inkjet printer, a flatbed scanner (which is connected to a standalone computer), and a photocopier. Most of the computers are close to five years old, are very slow and have insufficient memory to meet the needs of the students. All teachers have been issued with laptops and desktop computers have been removed from the Staff Room. The Administration Office computers and printers have recently been replaced and need no further action. The two main objectives for the school are to network the two school sites, and to ensure that the students in the Senior School have access to the best computer facilities they can provide. Project based on Landscape Architecture - Need Help....? The title says it all - I need a help with my Personal Project that is based on Landscape Architecture.. I'm going to design sketches of a Park, and I would like to know what type of Software(s) or Comp. Programme(s) I should use to do this? There are points that should be known firstly: 1) I'm also going to possibly (Not yet sure) to take a real empty land in Jakarta (This park is going to be based in Jakarta) to base my "Sketches of Park" (I'm not actually making the Park, only designing - planning it).. 2) I'm going to add some Indonesia Cultures - Elements onto the Park, so I would have to also sketch some wooden carvings or the kind.. And lastly, I have another question: Do you think in my position that it would be better for me to sketch my Parks with the Computer or Manually (With hands, writing tools and paper)? 3D model software?????????? Im looking for a good 3D modeling Software that I can either get for free or a $ 100 or less can anyone tell me of good software that I can afford and to Architecture design and other stuff as well?

I do not have a background in architecture, but I am interested in finding an entry level position...? Basically I have a degree in finance but I want to get into the architecture/interior design field. What softwares or basic knowledge do I need to get into the field? Where can I look up information?
