landscape architects? is it worth going to school for 3 years to get my masters degree in landscape architecture? or does this sound like a silly degree? does anyone know anything about this?
Is there really a need for landscape architects and interior architects? Also known as landscape designers and interior designers but with at minimum a bachelors degree. I ask this because an architect can design outdoor and indoor spaces as well as a building while landscape and interior architects can only manage part of a project. Or I've heard people say in some professions that it's good to focus on one aspect of a broad career. An example is advertising, you're better at focusing on one part like animation, rather than dabbling in all parts if you want to be most successful. What are your thoughts?
Landscape architects? in their jobs, are they always on the move because they've finished a project at the place they're living?

I want a professional career, and Landscape Architect seems to fit everything I want. I guess it is just hard to see into the future.....

ATTENTION LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS and HORTICULTURALISTS!!? Hi, im a landscape architecture student and im now doing my project design. My question is, is it possible to plant carpet grass vertically? i know there are vertical planting using the 'cells' but they are mostly to plant shrubs, never grass. In my project, I want to create steps, but all around the surface (all the threads and risers of each step) I want to use grass. I have been searching everywhere to find information about this and I thought I should seek advice or help from experienced landscape architects or horticulturalists. by the way, I also wonder if carpet grass (axonopus fissifolius) is shade tolerant. In my design project, Im going to use carpet grass under a viewing tower-like structure measuring height of around 3 metres and a circular viewing platform of 7 metres of diameter. I would greatly appreciate your help. Thankyou in advance. regards.
Why do landscape architects use math (calc., trig., statistics)? I know that they DO use this stuff, but not WHY. It doesn't help that I don't know any landscape architects. I've only found lists of the math that they use on the internet. This is not very helpful. But maybe you will be! WHY?!?!? And please be specific. This way, I won't need to ask another question asking what you meant by your first answer. Thanks.
What is the salary difference between a landscape architect and a landscape designer? I know they are two different jobs, although the LA does LD work sometimes, but what is the salary difference? Whenever I look with google.com, I only get results for landscape architects and not landscape designers. Also, can landscape designers still work at firms with landscape architects, or are landscape designers usually self-employed? I also meant to say what is the salary difference with working with a company? I'd rather work for a firm than have my own business.

Thank you for answering any questions I have!!
Landscape Architects! Some questions for ya!? Can someone who has no background in art, but great interest and determination be able to succeed in LA? What is the day to day life of a landscape architect? Is it very physically demanding? LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT the job for me? I have to say that I love to get outside and garden. It all goes back when I would do get out in the garden every spring with my grandparents as a child. Overall, I don't know if I would like the profession because I don't think it is going to be as involved with the "gardening" aspect as I would like and might be more like an office job where planning is primarily done. Any suggestions?

Also, what is the average salary of a landscape architect?

Changin my major from Business Administration to Landscape Architecture? Ok I am currently at a four year private school and I am a junior. I am a business administration major but I have ALWAYS wanted to be a landscape architect and I am transferring schools so I can be closer to home. However, I am going stick with business administration and I plan on getting my bachelors in it in spring 2009. Here is my situation, I have heard that I could go to graduate school for "Master of Landscape Architecure" and get my masters in that, therefore I get a that nice combo. I have been advised that it is sort of late to try to get my bachelors now in Landscape architecture because I would spend another entire academic year just doing the pre-reqs to get into the program which is going to hold me back longer. What do you guys think? What should I do? Is it a good idea to just get my bachelors in business then master in landscape architecture? please give me any ideas/advice I would really appreciate it. Thanks alot!
career change: landscape architect or web designer? do not know to quit my company and go fulltime working on my own. i've been working for more than 7 years as a landscape architect in a very respectable firm. i love web design and graphic very much, so i've been taking freelance job as web designer since 2004 working from 8-2am at nite after my fulltime job. i'm a very tired man and relationships suffered. it feels terrible as i feel neither here or there and i need focus on ONE thing. my boss recently said he will retire in 3 years and he plan to groom 3 of the key senior staff (including me) to be partner of this new company we will setup. he will take 60% share and provide the initial startup cost and while the rest of the yearly profit we share among three of us. then he took on this huge abu dhabi job that basically earn us USD600K fee for a span of 3 years. he assigned me and another colleague and himself to tackle this job. back to my freelance web design job, i've signup close to 6 months worth of jobs (USD10k) ....
