please help! anyone good with interior design!?

i'm decorating a 13 year olds bedroom. the walls are blue but i really want to have different colors so i can put alot of contrasting decorations in. i really really need a inexpensive area rug. i am absolutly in love with the ones on pbteen.com (pottery barn teen) but they are very expensive. i tried all the sites like kmart, walmart, target, jcpenney but they all seem to either have very adult or very childish rugs. i need one for a teenager with 17 year old taste thats not expensive. any ideas?

  1. Go with a white or cream color shade they both go with all color and decorations.
  2. ask her what her fav color is. Go from there. Try target. they have lots of coordinating accessories for college dorms.
  3. If you're going with trendy colors like browns and turquoise/blues, I'd get something chocolately colored. (I would opt for a solid color rather than one with a pattern - it won't override the scenery around it and really open up options for your walls) If you're going for earthy colors like rust, tans, browns, golds, etc., I'd go for a very dark shade of gold or rust. If you're thinking colors of a cool palette like pinks, lime greens, purples, I'd go for a very dark fuschia or purple rug. Whatever the color scheme, I'd do a rug with a solid color in a DARK SHADE. I don't know about your teen, but my 3 (past) teens ate, drank, and practically lived on the floor of their rooms! Everything imaginable ended up on their carpets! Have fun with it - you might wanna make sure you run final decisions with your teen! Good luck!
