Interior design ideas? Natural wood??

Me n my boo are moving to our own place soon to be ready for our expecting baby. So i bought this beautiful hickory wood (golden/natural color) entertainment center. Now im trying to think of what color scemes will go well in the living room with this color wood, ex: sofa, walls, fabrics etc. Helllp!! I prefer a warm inviting color sceme....

1. Best thing, wait til you move in and live there for a bit, then it will be easier to know. You will get a better feel for the place, the lighting etc.
2. you should play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. Like dark green, burnt orange, autumn red, etc. For a wall color, I think I would choose something like "messenger bag" (# 7740), and then a dark brown or burgundy leather living room set, or a red fabric, like this: http://www.homedecorators.com/P/Morano_Love_Seat_and_Sofa_Set/140/
3. Well, for your sofa, I wouldn't do a light color. Just because there will be a baby in the house, and things can get messy. I so I would go with a nice brown leather sofa, they are easy to clean and can hide stains. Then I would do a neutral color on the walls, maybe a cream or a light brown. Then for drapes, pillows, etc, I would do a darker brown. Maybe the same color as the sofa.
