If I want to be a professional organizer, what should I major in?

I want to organize closets, pantrys, offices, etc. as a profession, and I thought that the closest major would be interior design. What do you think?

  1. Definitely interior design.
  2. I agree with the interior design however organizing has a lot of math specifically algebra and geometry so a math minor would probably look really good, a lot of organization has to do with book keeping (or one relates to another as in a home office) so you might want to take some kind of bookkeeping class too For interior design its more important that you are ACTUALLY competent rather than just having a piece of paper that says that you are. You will develop your own portfolio and have internships in college so your work will speak for itself. don't worry about the "title" of the degree so much as taking the classes you will need. P.S. A good drawing class is also near essential because it really puts you a step above your competitors and being able to draw your design is the most effective and aesthetically pleasing way to communicate your ideas to clients. Best of luck.
