Wicca landscape designs?

I have been asked to create a wicca landscape for a home of a somewhat spirituial family. But have been unable to find anything on the web, other than art work. I am looking for something stucturial that can be made of stone and plant life that has a real wicca theme, and meaning. P.S. not stonehinge The area is a small quarter radius about 16'x10', raised about 6" above the rest of the front yard.

  1. http://www.churchofsatan.org/vera.html How about a large black iron gate with the words "Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here"?
  2. Hm. I would think they would ask for something more specific. You could use faeries in the garden. As for plants, you would have to ask them what kinds of things they want the plants to represent. The site below may be able to help you out.
  3. Try a permanent circle of stones to be used in ritual. You could put a firepit in the center for bonfires. You might also try doing a classic hedge of some type of herb (ie rosemary) in a pentacle pattern or circle pattern. A very simple hedge in the shape of a maze would be good for meditation. If a circle is done, then be sure to add some type of gate for opening and closing the circle. I would suggest copper if possible. A permanent maypole could also be erected. Bird feeders and squirrel feeders should be a part of it, since this is a religion of the earth. Any of these could be very spiritual while appearing to be non religious to non wiccan guests. Good luck.
  4. Have you thought of making it look like a shrine? You could always do a small garden in the shape of a pentagram (I did that yrs ago... turned out halfway decent too). They really should supply you with the things they want planted and what they mean as well as their symbols.
  5. You could build a seven-circuit Cretan-style labyrinth....there are TONS of books and info about them. If they don't want a ritual circle, but just gardeny type stuff, then try going with a Four Elements theme....You can line them up with the directions, or just put them where they are aesthetically pleasing. East/Air...Wind chimes, or maybe plants that will attract and feed birds. South/Fire A fire pit, or lots of red and yellow plants and flowers West/Water a goldfish pond and/or a fountain North/Earth Stones would be nice here, maybe a mosaic laid out in a pentacle or something of that nature. Or a triskele.
  6. There are so many varieties of Wicca that it's impossible to know what kind of landscaping they'd want for their home. Wicca includes reverence for nature, so a bit of focus on native plants or at least ones that thrive in the local conditions would be good. They might want an area for worship: a circle of stones, or an altar on which could be placed candles, food, flowers, etc. Wiccan rituals are generally held in a circle, so open space big enough for about a dozen people is good; sometimes, they'd want "quarter altars"--an area in each of the cardinal directions to decorate with items for that "quarter." (I'm thinking of 4 small stone benches placed equidistant around a circle, which could be used as seating most of the time, and would be big enough to hold a candle and a few ornaments for religious services.) Wicca generally acknowledges the four Platonic "elements" in four directions: air in the east, fire in the south, water in the west & earth in the north--so if it will include a fountain or water feature, they'll probably want that in the west, and other features can be arranged on an "elemental" theme.
  7. A celtic Cross is always a good Idea, otherwise you could do the triple moon or a triskele. I think that is an awesome idea. Send me some pics when its done.
