Should I work at home?

I've been a sole proprietor, website design, since 1997 at work at home. I want to double my revenue. To do this I could either double my hours or open an office and have some part-timers. I'd like to hear some opinions from those who have made similar transitions...was it worth it?...did you double your income but triple your hours and end up hating it? (I am not asking about incorporating...I am asking about quality of life of working at home vs. having an office.)

  1. i think that seems to be a great idea but than again think of the effects you could become lonily sometimes but if it works for you go for it
  2. Personally, I prefer working from home. I have no additional overhead and my home and other things surrounding my home/car became tax deductions. If you need part-timers, do you have a dedicated space in your home to provide for them? Having an outside office, to me, would add to your expenses instead of your income. My basement is my dedicated office space and one of my bedrooms is my Studio where I have my stock and additional personal work space. Best of Luck to YOU!
