Does anyone have any good resources for free downloadable house plans?

We are thinking of building and need ideas for floor plans. I've searched the internet a little, but most plans I see you have to pay for.

1. I've tried to find free plans myself with no luck. Someone(a builder) that if you found free plans,they probably wouldn't be very good. If your going to invest in a new house your first expense should be the blueprints. Check with local architects in your area. Good Luck Have A Great Day!
2. I know that you can get basic blueprints at Home Depot for garages, they might have them for houses also. I know that they have lots of books with house plans. That's the cheapest way to go, otherwise if you have prints drawn, they are very expensive. I had drawing done for just a staircase, and that was over $700. A general contractor
