I am planning my school dance, what should I do to make it cool?

I am only in 6 grade but I wanted to plan an after school play party at my house but my mom said no. So I was thinking I would do it at school. I would invite my whole grade and everything. What can I do to make my party cool? I was thinking about doing a hollywood theme dance with a red carpet. Is that cool?

1. yes thats cool for decorations use cardboard and cute out silhouettes of famous people or like posters of different movies and lots of silver gold stars. Glitter. shining lights n such. Oriental trading website online has cool stuff as well as ur local walmart of party city. no need to spend lots of moooolaa. be creative, have fun!
