Cool sleepover ideas for my 10yr olds birthday?
Hi there, My fantastic daughter turns 10 next week and has invited 5 girls from school to sleepover at our house. She's gutted as only two can come because its half term and the other three have plans. Any ideas to make it a really cool birthday sleepover for her as she is really looking forward to it.
Public Comments
- Karaoke Evening .... but dress as person whose song your singing
- rent movies for them to watch and let them make something like home made pizza bagels for dinner. Ice cream sundaes or make cookies
- Is it warm enough to sleep outside? Decorate her room how she'd like it - princess-like, or whatever she's into, so she can show it off to her friends!
- take her to do something she likes, like, give her $100 and drop her off at the mall or take her and her friends to the spa and get them like, massages and masks. ask her. never throw a surprise party.
- Get stuff so they can make their own pizza and sundae's. That's always a hit, they love that kind of thing. When we make individual pizzas, I buy the grands biscuts in a tube and they top it with what they want then bake according to directions. Make sure you have lots of munchies (avoid pop though), get some movies and they may want to play "beauty shop". Ask her what she wants to do as well, she may just want to "veg" out with her friends. Have Fun!
- Prepare a big box with pampering stuff (face mask, nail varnish, fluffy slippers etc). They will think they are very grown up.
- she is at that age where she starting to get away from barbies and geting into boys. you may not like it but that time is near. truth or dare is a big thing leave the room but stay close enough so you can still listen. that way she has a little bit of freedom and you can walk in the room when it gets to bad. do all her friends make up and hair then get out some of your cloths for them to dress up into. not your work pants. maybe a cute skirt you have. take pictures. she will like this alot.
- Turn into a beautician fot the evening! Paint thieir nails, toes, give them face masks. While the SPECIAL cream on their faces and hands is working (any old moisturiser with a smell) make them drinking chocolate. As for bedtime, read them a story - a really god one! Put a lot of drama into it. Tell them they have 30 mins to settle and leave them. (This wont work!!) The fun begins here and you are on your own!!!!!
- hi, my daughter is having asleepover for her birthday in november, we decided on pizza party. All the girls are gonna be downstairs, all the males have to go upstairs for the night. We are gonna have pizza, kebabs, and a cookie cake, and pop. Watch a few girlie films, play a few games and do thier hair and nails. All girls will sleep downstairs for the night. In sleeping bags. Dont reckon i'll get alot of sleep, but with seven kids whats new.lol Was also thinking of getting a craft kit for making friendship bracelets, so each child has some thing to take back home with them. As your daughter is ten, why not make it a theme night.Disney/Barbie princess night. Get the latest barbie films, bring a barbie, wear make-up and buy a barbie cake. Hope your girl has a lovely night.
- How about a camp out. Set up a tent in the backyard and tell the gals to bring sleeping bags and such.
- let them choose a dvd and bring out the make up let them carry on with the fun as they will make it up as they go along.
- Maybe go out to dinner
- a spa party. mani/pedis,make up, hair braiding. 10 year olds love that stuff.
- rent some movies and serve snacks, let them stay up as long as they want to, pump up the music and let them dance
- I agree with the beauty theme. Girls at this age are usually still quite "girly". I'm sure you can get age appropiate beauty kits from places like Toys 'R Us or Girl Heaven. There are kits with hair acessories, make-up, etc inside..invest in some funny feather boas. Let them do each other's hair and make-up while they watch some dvds. Blockbuster has been doing a promotion where you can get 3 dvds, sweets, popcorn and soda for only £10. Have fun!
- buy 1 of those big things where you fill it with sweets and they wack it and the sweets all fall out (you can buy them in asda).
- Buy plain pizza bases and let them make there own pizza's for their tea. My sister did this for her 9 yr olds party and it went down a storm. and then they blacked out the living room windows with black paper and did a disco with a glitter ball and disco lights. A karaoke machine will go down a treat too.
- scary movies.
- Let them feel they are in charge! For example, take them to the video rental place and let them pick out a couple of DVDs (but make sure you make it clear about what ratings you think are acceptable before you get there to avoid disapointment/a scene in the store). Then let them have ice cream and set up all the sauces/ sprinkes n stuff on the counter and let them cover their own. Pizza the same, make the bases and then leave out little plates with different toppings on so they can do their own. Make-overs can be fun, get them a disposable camera so they can take all the crazy snaps they want. A truth or dare bowl can be fun (write out the questions before with truths on one colour and dares on the other), it lets them play this game without getting too silly and you can work out lots of good ones beforehand. Make up and seal bags of sweets/little treats beforehand with "Midnight feast" writen on them and put them where they will sleep...make them promise to wait until midnight! Basically the rule is planning. This way they feel like they are in control and love it, but you are really the one holding the strings. Dont be afraid to let them know what you want eg. lights out, but be prepared for a night of quite little sleep! Hope you guys enjoy!
- my daughter had six friends to sleepover for her 10th birthday. no sleeping was actually done though. good luck. and happy birthday to your daughter
- if they are really girly why not do each others make-up n rent a dvd then maybe some kareoki.as itz only 4 of u all together y not go out for something to eat. XxX happyb-day 4 her!
- What about a mini cocktail party. Non-alcoholic of course ! Set up a "bar" decorate it with fairy lights or something like that. Pop to tesco, they have things like cheap plastic cocktail shakers and cheap cocktail glasses. Let them have some fun mixing their own drinks. Make sure you get lots of things like fancy straws, cocktail umbrellas, sparkly drink accessories etc. Serve canapes and finger food. Lots of people suggested good things too, I like the whole 'beauty spa' theme too ! Whatever you choose, i'm sure that once her friends arrive she'll have a fantastic time regardless of the theme. I hope it all goes well.
- buy some girlie face masks and pamper things, they will love it! my sister has just turned 11 and i bought loads of things from nail polish to face masks for her sleepover and she had a great night! trust me if they feel like adults then they will love it!!
