Phoenix Residents: Know of any cool places to go after Prom?

My date and I (I'm 18, he's 16) are going to Prom in Phoenix. Do you know of any relaxing places in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area? I was thinking maybe a nice lake to sit by, or any cool place that's open after 11pm. (fyi-we aren't planning on having sex, or going to an after party, or back to our houses). Any suggestions would really help! thanks

  1. You want a lake try Bartlet, Saguaro,Canyon, Roosevelt, Apache. You could just go down to the Salt river and hang out down there to. Butcher Jones recreation site at Saguaro lake is cool. There are tables and and a beach if you want to swim.
  2. most of the lakes in the phoenix area are about 30mins drive minimum (my bf and I go to Canyon lake all the time and it's 45 mins from our Chandler home). plus, the terrain isn't really prom dress friendly (lol) and most gates will be closed, not allowing you to park easily. why don't you try Tempe town lake? it's pretty quiet at night and it would be nice to take a walk around the lake and chat or sit down in the grass and relax. taking a drive up South or Camelback mountain would be nice too-you can see all the city lights (very pretty) most places won't be open after prom (except nightclubs). here are the links for tempe town lake and the mountains have fun at prom!! http://www.tempe.gov/lake/ http://travel.yahoo.com/p-travelguide-2808365-south_mountain_park_scenic_drive_phoenix-i (the hours posted say closing at 8p but you can still drive up the mountain far enough to see the lights) http://www.arizonensis.org/sonoran/places/camelback.html
  3. Ah man! no sex or after party! he won't have a prom to remember.........LOL take a drive to Lake Pleasant. http://www.azmarinas.com/PleasantHarbor/
  4. Go to the Hyatt Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale, not a far drive from Phoenix. They have a lake there with gondola rides or you can just sit by the lake. If you go by a couple drinks or an appetizer at the outdoor bar area by the pool, they shouldn't hassle you about sitting out by the lake. They might also have live music on that night and fire pits. You can also sit in one of the double bed cabanas by the pool, also such a huge area that if you behave you shouldn't get thrown out! It's beautiful there, I went there after my prom 20 years ago, oh man am I feeling old!
  5. Scottsdale six drive in.
  6. dont really know arizona is pretty boring...there isnt much to do here.
