Architectural drafting software?

I am considering 3 choices for architectural software that are within my budget: Chief Architect X1 SoftPlan v.13 Vector Works Architect 2008 Anyone with experience using these have any pros/cons? I basically use autocad lite, and I have tried some of those cheap design it yourself products like Punch and FloorPlan 3D, but I want something professional and able to mix the best of CADD with the best of house design. Any suggestions?

  1. In the college where I work, we use Autodesk REVIT for our CAD program as this is what the majority of architecture companies and engineer companies are using along with AutoCad. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?id=3781831&siteID=123112 it does everything from 3D floor plans, animation. You don't have to import files. If you are a student, you can get a nice student package http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=6080671
  2. Wish I had an answer for you mate. I'm starring your question in hopes of some of my architect friends seeing it.
