I am looking for a 7-8 bedroom house plan online?
We are going to build a house soon. I've been looking at house plans online but i can't find what I need. We have 3 kids and there is a chance that we will have custody of my 2 nieces and 2 nephews soon. I am looking for a 7-8 bedroom plan with all the bedrooms on the same floor. I have tried all the easy to find plans sites like coolhouseplans and eplans. I'm wondering if anyone knows an out of the way site that may be a little harder to find that may have what i need. Thanks! Yeah i know its alot. I'm not sure we will build that big but I want to see whats available. If we take custody of the kids, thats 7 kids for us to raise and i want ALOT of space! Chris- Thanks for all the info. We have considered an architect and that is possibly the way we might have to go. Due to the ages of the kids, even with 2 in a room for a couple of them, I still need 5 bedroom for them and 1 for us. and possibly a guest room. but that can be scrapped. The oldest 2 kids are both 14 and its 1 boy and 1 girl .They can't share a room and the youngest is 9 months. The 11 & 9 boys and the 9 & 8 girls are sharing rooms. We will figure something out. I just wanted ideas.

- thats a lot of rooms
- most lumber yards have catalogs with home plans, ou can see the layouts and profile and can order the full prints to send to an architect for pricing. These books are usually free and include dozens and dozens of plans. i.e.- carter lumber, 84 lumber ect.
- Yeah, that is definitely a lot of rooms, but I think you may be approaching this problem in an incorrect manner. I have lived in a home with 7 other siblings and it was chaotic, but we ended up sharing rooms when we were younger and, when others moved out, we entered our own rooms. There is a sense of closeness that resulted from living in the same room with my brothers that I believe to be very beneficial. Also, I develop properties for a living and have done a heck of a lot of design work. I think this may be a case where, if you need to have one room per child, you may think about hiring an architect. An architect is definitely more expensive than purchasing plans from one of those massive sites (which are insufficient in terms of detail from my experience with them), but it is a one-time cost for a house that will last a lifetime and it will optimize use of your very unique house (you want all the bedrooms on one floor!) If you are truly stuck on using one of these sites; I suggest you use this technique toward searching for your home. *Search by desired square footage (for 7-8 BR's I would select 3500+) *Obviously you eliminate the houses based on aesthetics and the ones that appeal to you, you persue. *Then scan the layouts for the 4-6 bedroom home plans (I didn't find ANY 7+ BR's) and you will realize that there are additional rooms that can be swapped out. Like second-floor laundry rooms, studys, nurseries, etc... *Whittle it down, get prices and then get a price from an architect! One big tip pertains to the location of the property. If its in the country with distant neighbors, then forget about location, but if your placing it in a neighborhood where land is cheap and so are the houses, you may not be able to justify the construction costs when/if you decide to sell the house. So, buy a lot in a neighborhood that shares the characteristics of your planned home. Good luck and congrats to your probable venture into 7-8 bedrooms jeez! Any further questions??? Add them to additional details and I will attempt to furnish them.
- Try the link below. We bought our plans from this site and I know I saw homes with 7 and 8 bedrooms. Use the simple search on the home page and pick the greatest number of bedrooms, I think it is 5 or 6. Once it returns the plans in a list, I believe to the side if each house plan picture it lists home many bedrooms and baths. Just scroll through the list until you find the number of bedrooms you are looking for. I think that will be the easiest way for you to track down what is available on this site. Good luck. http://www.thehouseplanshop.com/index.php
