Welcome home cupcakes design ideas?

I'm throwing a "Welcome Home!" party for two of my friends. They just came home from being in China for 17 days. Their names are Holly and Brielle. I'm making cupcakes for the party and I just took a cake decorating class so I'd like them to look special. Do you have any cute ideas for cupcakes? Some details: -There are 24 letters in "Welcome Home Brielle & Holly" so I could write each letter on its own cupcake, but are there any ideas for making them look cute and very impressive? - I'd love to incorporate any elements of China or USA if you have ideas relating to them. Anything else is great too :] Thanks in advance!

1. well your idea is cute but i think it would be cool to have things on some cupcakes that represent things they might have missed about home....like perhaps they love the beach so you can put draw a picture of a beach ball or something that represents the beach..or perhaps they have a dog that they missed then you could draw a pic of a dog on one. i hope you get the idea...doesnt have to go on alll of them. Maybe you could spell out "welcome back to USA" and then on the others you can put the pics....good luck!!!
2. make the cupcakes into the shape of china! that would be rly cool, u could also use chopsticks or other decorations
3. Do you think you could find someone to write the "welcome home..." in chinese. Then I would take the cupcakes and put them all in the shape of a big heart, or a house, etc... then ice the ones with the chinese writing on them in a differnt color. or.. Do the "welcome home " and work that phrase into one of the stripes of the American flag. Put the rest of the cupcakes in the shape of the flag - ice accordingly to the stripes. Maybe put their names on cupkakes in the "star" area of the flag. Good Luck
