How to design a LAN bet. the main office and branch office in another city?

Scenario: Main building: a router and either 2 or 3 switches for Grp1=40 users, grp2=20 users, grp3=4 servers to occupy different flrs of the bldg. Branch office: a router and a switch w/ 20 users. The router from the main bldg is connected to the internet. Required: to design a simple LAN that will connect to the internet. Observe all standards; you pretty much assume aother things that will come to play. I need help, I have just started networking class!!!
