How can I host and plan a cool public Halloween event?
I am trying to plan a Halloween Event, such as a Haunted House, with food, drinks, games, etc. I need help from anyone who has ever done a similar event. *Do I need to have it approved by the town? *Is there insurance and liability insurance I need? etc... Thanks!

- okay...you can go to netlog.com and there you can make your events on public and invite people from all around the world.
- Get ahold of your local park and rec department (or city hall if it's just a small town). When I was a kid, they used to put on halloween carnivals at a municipal park each year. Another avenue would be to contact some non-profit organization, like the Lions or Rotary club. They do a lot of civic events and might be willing to take something like that on.
- It really depends on where your going to host it. If it's in a Haunted House that already has most of the paperwork/licenses it helps. But, you'll probably have to provide the license from the city for the distribution of food (health inspection, bla, bla, bla)... all that. If it's in your private "home area" than you'll still need a load more of approvals from the city.
- Well, first thing you want to do is buy me an airline ticket to come. I love Halloween parties. Haha But seriously if you are planning on a "public" party there are definitely some legal steps to take first... I'm not sure where you intend to hold this event, be it at a public place or your own property, regardless you're definitely going to need to take some precautions and throw some cash forward. If you are throwing this at your house I'm not sure that you need a permit. You might want to check with your state and local township's regulations and laws. You can actually look that up online = ] If you are having it at a public place you will need to pay some $$$$ to rent the designated spot as well obtain permits and ensure that no damage is done. This is actually a relatively long process so it is a good thing you're planning ahead. However, you're going to want to get all that nasty paperwork done in the next week. I hope I have been a help if not I'm sorry I couldn't be of more assistance. Have a great one and good luck with the party =]
