  1. A architectural designer draws the whole building from a design point of view. A architectural technician draws the technical issues needed in the building, like drains/plumbing , electricity, air-condition and so forth.
  2. The main difference is the amount of education. The technician and draftsperson are both two year associate degrees. They can help drawing plans and with some of the technical aspects. An architectural designer has a four year degree in some architectural discipline. He can do it all from the original concept to the design and drawing to the overseeing of the construction. But he is not an architect yet. That takes one more year of school and a masters degree. Any plans that he draws have to have an architect's seal on them.
