What's the average cost of a custom wrought iron staircase?

We are going to build our dream home and I'd like to have a ballpark figure to add to our budget. I know the costs vary from standard to premium designs. Our house plan has a curved staircase and I am picturing my stair rails with a continuous intricate scroll design. Does anyone out there have any clue on what it might cost? Thanks! Thanks, Dave. If your costs were indeed fair market/average, that makes me a happy woman. I was hoping that the cost would be about 10-12 thousand dollars or below.

1. I had a wrought Iron staircase custom made for my staircase. I shopped around and I found a company to do it for about $3000. after it was installed it ended up costing about $4200.... Damn Contractors!!
