Home design: Is it okay to flush furniture to window where there is curtain?

I think my husband is talking air when he says its okay to put the TV cabinet against the floor to ceiling window to 'save' space. We are moving into a house, so I think we have more options than staying in our current apartment. I want to put nice curtains at the window to accent the living room like ALL people do. Can anyone tell me I'm right to avoid furnitures against my floor to ceiling window and my husband is totally wrong and has no decoration sense??
