There are annoying anti-war hippies right out side my office. Why don't they respect my right to work in peace

So about 50 hippies and other... ummmm interesting people code pink, answer, a guy with a sign that says no war for oil (he got out of a big SUV btw) are outside my office in San Jose protesting... I guess they don’t realize that this building houses accounting and graphic design firms. But they are outside in orange jump suits and holding signs that say "Stop torture". I don’t have access to the top 8 floors but I am sure there is no torture going on here. Now I have been watching them for a few minutes, why are the same 3 cars driving in circles around the building honking the horn? Is it to look like people actually care about their idiocy? Do these people have jobs? Or are they paid to annoy accounting firms who deal with businesses not the government? Should I go to their jobs and annoy them? Actually from the looks of the crowd, few actually work. Should I go out side and practice my right to flip them the bird? Anyone in San Jose want to join me? More info... Awww they gone and gave up... poor hippies. Trust me I don't have to ask if they have jobs, it is VERY obvious that most do not or have a job where they don't work with the general public. No I am not an accountant; I work for an accounting firm. I am more like an event coordinator... sounds weird, well it is. BTW apparently People missed where I said they have a right to protest, but I have a right to be left alone. They can waste all the time in the world as far as I care, just let me work in peace. I just wish I had a camera. And I did give them the bird. Open your eyes: LOL, take your name's advice and go read my profile. I have a lot of gay friends who would luagh thier butts off at your comments. By the way, great proof that liberals are open minded, kind and loveing people. Pityful angry little people make me luagh, thanks. Ummm actualy woudn't me going to work count as the right to peacably assemble? I mean after all I am gatheirng together with like minded people to accomplish something. by them disrupting us, is that not infringing on my rights? See I can interpret the law too suit my views and opinions as well people.

Public Comments

  1. I woudl go outside and take pictures and watch - I woudl get a couple of co-workers to go with me and whisper and laugh, then take some more pictures. You know like its a circus sideshow or something Aww, look at the thumbs down - its ok for the anti-war people to express themselves but not working people like myself - how cute
  2. You are productive and generate something of value to society, therefore a Capitalist. No wonder those commies don't respect you. PLEASE take some pictures and share them! I want them!
  3. Perhaps you should move to China were such freedoms are banned. I mean since you want to be PC and all---we wouldn't want your feelings to be hurt.
  4. Yes its free speech...so go flip the bird.
  5. Go help in Iraq, we will be proud of you....
  6. I like you!!! And I wish I were in San Jose to join you as well.
  7. Discreetly pee out of your window on them. Now THAT feels better!
  8. You don't have the right to work in peace but they do have the right to assemble. Not that I agree with their politics but I do agree with the Constitution. But by all means get some buddies together and go out and ridicule them.
  9. I wish I could be there.
  10. i hate hippies. *ring* *ring* uh hello? yes hi this is 1969 are my hippies there? geeezuz!
  11. You have the right to express your opinion. However, your comment about having jobs vs. them not having jobs is not based on anything other than anger. Demographically, the people protesting the war are employed at the same rate as the general public (4-8%). Nor should you use not having a job as a reason to ignore their opinion.
  12. Go buy some John Phillip Suza music and a boombox over lunch then blast some good marches out of your office window at them. You know, the kind of patriotic stuff libs hate.
  13. Protesters can be really annoying but thankfully our country still let's us, even people we think are crazy or not, protest peacefully.
  14. You're an accountant? Oh that explains everything about you. I worked in an accounting office too. I got out, I fled and escaped as soon as I could. They are the most angry and bitter people I ever met. I'm not kidding either. Most of them die young because they get annoyed by the smallest of things and they get no exercise while their girth around their belly grows. It's no wonder. Wasting your life looking at numbers and minutae everyday has to make anyone bitter and look at people who are exercising their right and freedom to protest and stand up for what important and for what is right including their own rights and the rights of others as hippies.
  15. Hmmm....looking thru the constitution here....lets see.....right to assembly...check........freedom of speech...check.....right to work in peace.......hmmmmmmm.....dont see it
  16. There would be no America if not for people like that. Those "hippies"--whether you know it or not--are all that stand between you and Bush's torture camps.
  17. They are maniacs. The Pepto patrol is the biggest joke of all.
  18. You don't have a right to work in peace. They do have a right to protest. If you don't agree then fine. But when the day comes when you want to protest and they set the police on you for "disturbing the peace" don't you dare complain.
  19. don't worry;when the news crews leave, they will leave too.
  20. Can you flip 'em off for me?
  21. So you don't believe in the freedom of assembly? Is there any freedom Republicans don't want to take away?
  22. "Don't they know the war's about over and won?" -daddy's back wouldn't be to sure about that remember "Mission Acomplished"?
  23. Here is what you do. Walk outside and walk up to one. Ask him if war is ever the answer. When he says no, punch him in the face...hard. When he gets up angry, hold up your hands and say "Wait...violence is not the answer." When he calms down a little...blast him in the face again. Repeat this until he swings back, then kick the living crap out of him and tell him that violence is sometimes necessary, and that he should go the he!! home. Atheism...I wish I would have thought of that. I love it.
  24. I live near DC and we get protesters daily. The funniest thing I ever saw was during a protest, up in the office building above where the rallies were being held, about 30-40 people were sitting in the windows on the 4th floor doing the wave. I about died laughing. Protesters are welcome to do it, but be prepared for someone else to protest your protest.
  25. "Hippies suck" - Eric Cartmen Here's what you do: tell them you are getting signatures on a petition to protest the war. Pass it around and make sure you get their names and addresses. Then go to their homes at 3:00 am with a bullhorn and have a pro-war protest.
  26. You sound very childess to me, if It bothers you so much stay away from the window and do your job. Since you can't really do anything to stop it, just ignore them.
  27. lol, your description is hilarious. Their freedom of speech could be countered with disturbing the peace and public nuisance, but those 'enlightened' types love conflict and they hold grudges like children, so I wouldn't mess with them or they'll be back everyday next week just to piss you off. You should get into comedy. Thanks for the laugh and good luck with the loonies.
  28. I love your ironic sense of humor. None the less, I would ask them to quiet down. Listen to them and go about your day. Nothing pisses off a protester more than passiveness to their cause. They also have the right to protest and speak, I also have the right to ignore them & not listen.
  29. I do not believe you have the "right" to "work in peace". Can you let me know exactly where you are granted this right? Now these protesters, whether annoying or not, do have the right to assemble. That one comes from the constitution.
  30. Go back to work. If it weren't for those "hippies" and people like them, our country would be much different. Women suffragettes, civil rights marches, and ending the war in Vietnam. remember? If you do not like their message, go out and counter-protest. You have that right, at least for now.
  31. I remember protesters in Cincinnati about 5 years ago protesting at the "taste of Cincinnati" festival. They were carrying signs saying don't spend money downtown because police brutality or something. Then after 45 minutes they all put their sign down and bought some chili.
