Minimum beam dimension?
What is the provision provided by the ACI code for the minimum beam width? Can i use 200mm width in beam design for a three-storey office building?

- there is no minimum width. it all depends on the load. timber has standard sizes and so is steel. for canadian code, the smallest timber beam width is 140mm. that's 6 inches. concrete depends on load, the concrete cover plus rebar spacing.
