Do you believe that Christ uses the body of Christ to build up His church?
God does not want us to be lonely. After pronouncing all of His creation"good" (Gen. 1:4-31), He pointed out the one thing that is "not good"- namely, to live in isolation(2: 18). So the Lord gave him Eve. Which made relationship and intimacy possible. His design was for us is to live in fellowship both with him and others. That is why God has placed believers in the church, which Scripture calls the "body of Christ". How does the body of Christ minister to each other? Are we to help and encourage each other with approval and love and is it our duty to build them up in the faith? How do we help those whose hearts are breaking on this forum and strengthen them? Are we sensitive in this direction and do we sense when the Holy Spirit is leading us? Are we asking the Holy Spirit bring to mind someone we haven't touched bvase with recently? Niente...Amen sister! I am so thankful for you building us allup!

- We should, all christians should go to www.wayofthemaster.com and share thier faith, that is the most important way, to save lost souls.
- The Church truly is the very Body of Christ, as Paul said. Christ gave us his Body & Blood to feed us on our journey.
- If we don't do it...........who will!!!!!!!!!! If we don't build up our own body (the church), where would we get the strength to reach out to those that are outside of the body so that we can bring them in.
- Amen.. Such a sweet and sensitive kind of post sister:) Ty. It is questions like these that not only get great answers, but also leave a lasting impression. What touches me the most sis is that the very life that we each received as believers is the Life of our Father, making us His children. This Life is divine, eternal, indistructable... It is a "Body Life". It is a life that desires fellowship with others who share this same Father. Its no wonder, when we are born again, that we desire to meet with others who are believers in the Lord Jesus. The Lord in His ultimate wisdom gave us a human body as a picture of something that is so precious to Him..His Church, which is His Body.. This Organism ( not organization) is made up of Christ as the Head and the church with the many members as the His Body. What makes us part of the Body of Christ? Is is our personality? Our disposition? Our abilities and strengths? Anything in ourselves qualifying us? Hallelujah! What makes us a part of Christ is Christ's life in us. We share the DNA of Christ because He is living in us to be our very life ( 2 Tim 4:22). In this Body we have "Christ "as the Anointed One. Its not called the Body of Jesus. Its called the Body of "Christ." There is a picture in Psalm 133:1-2 of Aaron, as the High Priest being anointed with precious oil that ran down the beard, then down to the hem of his garments. But look at how these verses BEGIN. Its most interesting. " Behold how good and how pleasant it is, for BROTHERS TO DWELL IN UNITY" "IT IS LIKE the fine oil upon the head that ran down upon the beard, upon Aaron's beard, that ran down upon the hem of his garments. This verse show us something very amazing. It shows us that as our Head, Christ is anointed with the Oil. Oil in the bible is a symbol of the Holy Spirit. Aaron in this verse is a type of Christ as our Heavenly High Priest. The " garments" typify us, the church as His Body... as His fullness, the very expression of Christ ( Eph1:22-23) The Oil running down from Aaron's head, all the way to the hem of his garments signify that both Christ as our Head, and the Church as the Body are under God's anointing with the Fine Oil ( Heb 1:9 and 2 Cor 1:21). This attests to our oneness with the Lord and with one another as His body. Today we have received an anointing from the Holy One. It is by this Anointing that we are lead to care for one another and build up one another as the Church, the Body of Christ. How we care for one another and build up one another in the Body has a lot to do with this anointing picture that we see in Psalm 133. The first verse shares, Behold.. Hallelujah.. How Good and How Pleasant it is when brothers dwell together in unity!!! What does this have to do with Aaron and the oil and the garments? EVERYTHING. Because on our own, we do not know how to even begin to care for one another in the way that the Lord desires, we need to those who take the lead from Him. As the Anointing, the Holy Spirit is abiding in us, and we have no need that any man teaches us, but as His anointing teaches us concerning all things, and is true and is not a lie, and even has He has taught us, we need to abide in Him. Today, as we heed the Spirit in us, He will make us sensitive to what is going on in the Body of Christ. Each morning, we need to rise up as Mary did, break our alabaster flask afresh and anoint the Lord's HEAD with the Love from our being. As we touch and " lay hold to the Head" of the Lord in this way, He infuses us with His feelings, His througts, His desires, His ways and preferences concerning the brothers and sisters. What part of someone's Body knows the rest of his body more than the head? Everything stems from the head. Unless we are holding to Christ as our Head, and obeying His speaking in us, then we will not know how to properly care for the saints in the way He wants. We will be busy doing things like Martha, filled with anxiety and complaints, rather than choosing the better part of Sitting; Breaking the flask; Pouring out our love as the ointment, and Anointing the Lord's head, receiving His infusing. We want to be filled with the inward parts of Christ, since this is the only genuine way to build up Christ's body... He is the "BodyChrist." He is the Head, but He is also the Body. For it is no longer we who live, but Christ who lives in us ( Gal 2:20) Today we want to touch the Lord and be in touch with Him. Each day is a fresh and new beginning to consecrate ourselves to the Lord. To give ourselves to Him and to His Body. One thing I noticed about Mary, when she took the pound of nard to anoint the Lord, she did not just anoint His head, she also anointed His Body. Our Love for the Lord should match the kind of love we have for the brothers and sisters. We cannot say that we love the Lord and handle the saints in a light, short, and even ugly way. Where our words are short, our tempers flare. Do we see the Lord in these ones when we speak to them as we well please? Oh May the Lord cover us and unveil us. May the Lord continue to broaden our hearts each day. On this earth, the only thing that God has representing Him in a genuine way is the Church as Christ's Body. How We need to SEE, DISCERN, CHERISH, and GIVE OURSELVES for the Building up of the Church as the Body of Christ. God has gifted us each to be a "gift" unto the Body. The gift, ministry and function is not for us, it is for the Body's growth and maturity. Until we " all arrive" at the oneness of the Faith and of the Full knowledge of the Truth. If we can be unveiled to see that is not just this woman or that man, but that these are brothers and sisters, people that contain Christ in them, then I think the Lord will have a strong way to caution us on how we speak, how we treat, how we react to one anothers' weaknesses, shortcomings, struggles and difficulties. I had to cut this short because of space. Ty for the Q sweet sis. Love you sis Here, next to you. Sandy
