I am steaming anger, why aren't you?
I have just been watching a documentary TV programme which was actually debating the difference between two church buildings in Liverpool UK. One was the Catholic (Christian )Church, the other was the Anglican (Christian) church. One was designed and built half round, the other circular!! Both cost millions to build!! How can these Christian ?? churches justify this expenditure when so many around us are at this very moment dying of hunger?? And then they can calmly debate whether or not the design of their church is suitable for their individual beliefs? And yes!! I do feel better now I have got that off my chest! Christian Hypocrites!!
Public Comments
- Thou shalt not COVET.
- I didnt watch is so I cant comment, I can understand you being upset though
- Christians are hypocrites, damn right! Well thought and said.
- Judge not, lest you be judged.
- I'm glad you feel better. That's how religion works though. They say "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." but when they see a homeless person, more often then not they'll pretend like they don't see them. So thanks for the info, now I have another thing I can dispute with my grandmother's pastor when he tries to convert me. Thanks
- Gotcha!!!
- You are a budding author, you should not be sentimental, otherwise, we will start start enjoying by seeing you steaming anger.
- kinda like when you see a Jesus fish bumper sticker on a gleaming Lexus SUV, huh?? I once was in a motel where there was a Baptist Men's convention and these two yay hoos were going on about Christians deserving material rewards for their beliefs, the Bible says so, blah blah blah and it was sickening, their blindness to human suffering.
- Yeah. I was wondering why the christian church next door built a PARKING LOT over beautiful land. I wake up and see this black, tarry parking lot. :-(( Their church used to have those beautiful wooden fences, which I thought was very attractive, more homely and more "inviting"....now they have this metal wire fence spanning ALL the way around the church. Now the church does not look as inviting. It looks like it does not want anyone else in there, like some kind of cold 'exclusive' club. EDIT: Disclaimer---just how I am FEELING.
- Wait a minute, churches (real ones not those disgraceful garages they have in the US), are things of architectural beauty. There are also many secular buildings and things that don't even have a function and they're still nice and tax payers pay for them. If something is beautiful then it's good and who cares?
- Yeah it sucks. The only good Christians you will find are the ones who don't know how they really operate. And Mainworry you are really starting to bug me.
- Completely agree!! Religion (Christianity very much included)is all about self-righteous arrogance, justifying any sort of deviation from its own standards whenever it suits them and (my personal favourite...)justifying hate against anyone with differing beliefs, races and sexual orientations all the while spreading the message of god's love to all...aaaarrrggh...now I'm angry too!! Re: androcles comment; That has got to be the most ridiculous comment ever, comparing football clubs to churches is just nonsensical! They are not going around preaching, about how you should love and help your neighbour and then spending money which they could have used to practice what they preach! Football clubs are a business these days and you could have used them interchangeably with anything else like the construction of your local Tesco (do we really need a Sainsbury's and a Tesco - see what I mean about a ridiculous argument!!!)
- I hope that you are equally indignant about the monumental waste of money going into the rebuild of Wembley when there is a superb national stadium in Cardiff. Come to think of it, there are two big football clubs in Liverpool, each with large stadia. Maybe they should sell one of them and give the money to the poor, after all surely Liverpool (football) and Everton (football) don't require one EACH. I hope you get my point, while the 2 churches in Liverpool may seem wasteful, and probably are, there are far bigger and more expensive things to get angry about. Unless, of course your ire is reserved exclusively for the Christian Church, but I'm sure that isn't the case otherwise you would be a bit of a hypocrite yourself, wouldn't you?
- There now isn't it better that you spoke some truth this morning? You have and always will know the answer, Hypocrites. You know they live by the golden rule,"DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO." You have not one reason to try and understand, just know that you are above it.
- In general I agree with you and I’m an atheist BUT those churches/buildings are not funded by tax money, it is a private fund thrown together by the members of that religion If they chose to burn they cash its they money to burn Other then that we all know that especially Christians are the biggest Hypocrites in history of man kind And as for "Judge not, lest you be judged" lets see if you religious people EVER EVER be able to do that 1st.. until then STFU
- I can understand how you feel. but don't let what some do turn you away from God. you'll find hypocrites in all faiths. being a Christian doesn't make you perfect, just saved. the bible predicts things like what you talked about happening in the last days, don't worry about what fallible man does keep your eyes on God and seek him thru Jesus...... every time i see Church's building bigger and more majestic i wonder what Jesus would say to these people , probably just what you said...hypocrites!!!
- Well, I can understand your anger. Let me tell you from a christian point of view. There are some people that do crave material things. Some people go to the biggest fanciest church they can because it makes them feel real important or something. But, most Christians, including myself, is not worried about how big or fancy the church is. We just go to church to worship. It's that simple. I go to church so that I can fellowship with other Christians, so that I can get a better understanding of God's Word, and so that I can worship with others.
- You're absolutely right,it has nothing with religion and faith. But we see that for centuries religion is on the monopoly of someone and they do what they want. We have nothing to do but to show that they're not right by living our religion rightly, even if they don't understand it,you will have done good work!
- chirstians aren't always hypocrites, but that religion is unfortunately (no offense, but look at your priests/lack of unity) one of the most hypocritical in the world. it also gives judaism, which it comes from, a bad name
