What people do for a career...?

I have had alot of strange reactions when I tell people what I do for a living..... I would like you to imagine the situation... Your single, in a night club or out some where and a bloke (or woman) comes up to you. You start talking just general conversation when you ask..."So, what do you do for a living?" They answer "I'm a draftsperson" ***A draftsperson is a person who draws sketches, plans, or designs. EG: house design, mechanical design, landscape design etc.*** My question is: How would you react to this answer? What would you be thinking when someone tells you "I'm a draftsperson"? Would you try and change the topic quickly or would you genuinely be interesting in hearing about the details of his or her work? Does being a draftsperson even sound like interesting work? Do you get a stereotypical view of the person as being "a nerd" or "geek"? If you are a draftsperson... what do you honestly think of your job? The answers you give will be going into my report for TAFE (education purposes). Thankyou for your help.

  1. See it depends on how you say it. Don't just say draftsperson and stop there. For example if you are a teacher you can say I'm Guru. with a slight smile and say I'm a teacher. Make it sound interesting. answer mine pls. http://sg.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AtVssNDeiSPj8lvnJLpDwm744gt.;_ylv=3?qid=20081021220951AAQ840T
