Architectural Designs

I'm a student learning architecture. I have some difficulties in planning my rooms.TT?

I am a sophomore majoring architecture. I am taking Architectural Design Studio this semester. We have a project of making a house, but I don't know how to put the rooms together and how to put stairs and how to connect the rooms. I've seen many times how to plan a house from my father but this is my first time to do by myself. And I don't know what are the normal sizes of the rooms. Can anybody help me please??
