what is the best way to find an interior decorator?

How should I go about finding an interior decorator in my area (just north of Atlanta)? How much should I expect to pay if I only want to get a decorator to draw up a design of my living room, 12 X 22 and tell me what furniture, colors, curtains, rug etc to get so that I can do it myself ? I just want them to give me the plan and let me run with it.

1. If you do not know of someone that has a referral, call several to see if they will give you a consultation free. Then you can ask the same questions as here to find out if they will. Good luck, they are all fairly costly.
