- You need to check your state on regulations on how many children you can have. Where we live if you have more than 4 children for daycare, you need a license. Each state is different. Check your local Department of Social Services and find out. I can tell you from past experience that I had a 6 month old son, and two outside children that I was watching. A newborn and a 2yr old and it was very tough. Parents wanted to drop of their children at 5:30am and come get them 6 or 7pm. The money was good, but not worth it to me because it took precious time away from my son. :-)
- You can find the requirements for your state at: http://nrckids.org/STATES/states.htm Along with the regulations, you will find a link to your state agency's website. This is often a good place to start as frequently have a 'FAQ' or 'How to Start a Daycare' that spells things out a bit more clearly than having to sift through the actual regulations. Also, you can find info on starting a daycare at: http://www.kidcentric.com/how-to-start-a-daycare/ Good luck! Let me know if I can provide any more assistance. Misty
