Taiwanese building code?
I have been granted a PARC for Taiwan and recently been granted approval to begin construction of my company here in Taiwan. Since I will be living in Taiwan consistently for at least the next 10years, I decided to build my own house here in Taiwan (not really impressed with the houses here). I have applied for the building permits and everything but the local government requires me to submit a building plan for the house. Which is all well and fine, except I don't know any of the Taiwanese building codes for houses. Having an architectural degree so I plan to design my own house from the ground up. Therefore I just need someone to direct me towards the residential building codes of Taiwan. Serious Answers only please.

- Your best bet is to hire a Taiwanese counter partner. Sit down side by side and put your design together. With him stamping things as you go. A sneaky way to go is to buy an existing house and demolish almost all of it. I think you need to keep one exterior wall standing. Then they consider that a remodel job. Thus no need for a building permit or plans. The first answer is the one I recommend to you Taiwan has Typhoons and Earthquakes. Even if you found an English copy of 2009 Taiwan building codes Taiwanese language will still prevail. If you can read Chinese then you can do it by yourself. But if something is wrong than you have to redo it. Construction is different in Taiwan. My friend built a five or six story building. The ground floor was solid and the first ceiling was also but all the other floors had like a 6 foot square hole in the middle up to the top floor. The roof was solid. The inspector came and inspected the roof and ground floor then signed the building off. Then the contractor finished the rest of the building. It was strange? Good luck.
