designing a website? My computer's got Office 2007 (home version) and runs vista.?

It doesn't seem to have any software for website design, which I thought was Adobe? Is there anything downloadable from the internet? We've already got the domain.

  1. Page breeze is an html based web design software which is free Link on this site http://milliondollarzhomepage.co.uk/htmlinstruction2.html
  2. Try Visual Studio2005 or 2008.
  3. There's plenty of free web design programs. Just google and you'll find some to download. If you've got MS office, that should include MS FrontPage which you can use. In fact there's nothing to stop you building a simple page in Microsoft Word.
  4. Adobe Dreamweaver is the best software package for creating websites.

  6. MS Office is able to write web sites, not the most efficient but easy to do. When you open word and select from a template you can select one ofthe web templates, this is a good place to start. Or, if you have some documents already writen, you can use SaveAs to save them as a web page. A bit better is if you have PowerPoint in your office suite. With this you can do multi page presentations, then you publish or save as a web site, then Powerpoint puts in menus and things for you. Your Excel can also be saved as a web page. Be careful of links, such as inserted pictures. When you copy a html version of a Word document to your we site, you must remember to copy any pictures too. This is done for you is you use PowerPoint. One point to note though is what ever web developer might be shouting at the screen right now as they read this, MS Html documents are very ineficient. The 'style' portion of each document is huge. They also include a lot of javascript that your page may not need, they include a standard set for most occasions. What this all means is that MS html documents take longer to load (for visitors to your website) also takes longer to render in your browser. Also, MS do not bother to look at what sort of browser your client is using, they assume internet explorer, so some items may not work properly. But, for simple pages or web documents you can use your Office 2007.
