Using Bootcamp/Windows Emulation on Macbooks?

So I'm looking for a new laptop. I really like the macs, their Macbook Pros pack a lot of punch, but let's be honest, they're pretty expensive compared to other companies (like Dell, which I'm currently using.) What I want to know is if any of you fine people have used a Macbook or Macbook Pro extensively, using bootcamp or whatever, an emulation device to run windows vista or xp. Specifically doing this to use AutoCAD, Revit, 3ds MAX or any other related high-powered design software. If you've tried a render using mental ray or v-ray I'd love to know whether it crashed or not... :D If you haven't used architectural software, have you successfully run new high-end games that aren't mac compatible through an emulator?
