What would be a cool theme for a 20th birthday party?

My birthday is not for a while, but I want to start planning it now so I can have all the details worked out by then. I want something fun, but grown up. I'm sick of having birthdays at my house just sitting around the table drinking. I want to have it out somewhere....ideas are appreciated. actually audio-whatever...I was born in 1989

a gambling, casino theme is super fun! you can drink, dress up, dance, and play some fun games. there's a ton of stuff to do and everyone has a blast. try it and you won't be disappointed:)
My friend's father had this idea for his 30th: Have many people; family, friends, colleages, and have them come in white dresses or togas. Decorate the house (or hall or bar) with Greek decorations. My pal's father decorated their house to look like the Parthenon. Or you can have people come dressed up as people from the year you were born. For example, lets say the birthday person was born in the year 1990. Then, the guests would dress up in like McHammer pants or stirrups and tease their hair. At the party, they'd play 90's music like Michael Jackson, Madonna, Paula Abdul, etc. Idk just throwing it out there ;]]
trry an 1987 (you sais 20 years ago) party-play music from the year you were born. Have it in a room from a favorite restaurant If you did it at your house, do the party in a buffet style . use the table to have food on and have a dvd and or music running
