How do I get my furniture design ideas produced? Where do I go first?

I live in southern California and I'm an interior design graduate. I want to know where I can get my ideas produced into actual pieces. I'm bad at finding these kind of resources out.

1. Check with local custom cabinet/millwork shops. Most often they will do custom furniture as well and you can't beat the quality.
