How to setup my office professionally?

Hello, I'm a young business owner "under 25", and my business is growing FAST! I went from 2 employees to now 16 employees within the place 1 1/2. I recently had to buy a new office building Down Stairs has 4 offices which will be turned into open space and one office for a break area. But upstairs has a Studio Apartment which I'm going to turn into my office + conference room. What is the best way to setup my office? I regular have Government "military" clients dropping by and I just want it to look professional what is the best way to design my office? My brain lacks designer skills? I want to give it a "green" appearance btw. Sorry about the typos FireFox........ The break area has a bathroom for Male/Female works. The receptionist desk is in the front at the main door. The main reason upstairs is my office is well I have a small daughter that I sometimes take to the office with me and it has enough room for her to play and stay out of trouble. It also over looks my entire facility and this is important.

  1. You might consider doing this upside down. The studio apartment would make a great break room with the bathroom and kitchen used for employees. You could put maybe 4 desks in the old living, dining, sleeping part in cubical. Viewing the space from the front door you will want a receptionist with 4 or so guest chairs. Your office should be next to the conference room. The other offices converted to hold as many employees as you can fit in.
  2. I think you can do what ever pleases you. since you are a business owner, I would skip the rock star posters and the Playboy pinups but a desk, your chair, the computer and other hardware and a place or 2 for your clients to sit is all that is required. If you have presentations to make, maybe a separate room or alcove for that. Many places add a copy of their license or degree or what ever and family photos. You could even do the decor in what ever you specialize in. If you a fixer of computers(for example) there has to be some great art work involving mother boards or what ever. Do you sell real estate? A photo montage of bizarre houses might be fun. I personally would think comfort and convenience first, style second.
