How much would it cost to build a house like this?
I just want to know how much the materials would cost. I live in SC if that matters. Here are some examples: http://www.houseplans.com/925-square-feet-2-bedroom-1-bathroom-Country-house-plans-0-garage-(1028) http://www.houseplans.com/1197-square-feet-2-bedroom-1-bathroom-Bungalow-House-Plans-2-garage-(27398) http://www.houseplans.com/850-square-feet-2-bedroom-1-bathroom-Traditional-house-plans-0-garage-(32389) Would I be able to build onto easily like a third bedroom and another bath?

- If you drop off a set of plans at Home Depot or Menard's or your local lumber yard. They will give you a bid on the materials. and a break down of what you are getting. Usually you get a break on the price of materials if you give a bulk order to one vendor but it always pays to shop around. Then you can decide if you want to buy your windows from one vendor and your doors from another and the wood from a third. The price of a house will vary greatly based on things like windows doors, type of exterior siding, kitchen cabinets floor coverings, lighting fixtures and all the other dozens of extras. The basic framing of the exterior will be a constant price but the rest can vary greatly.
- Best to go with the biggest one as they all take the same length of time to build labor wise. There is no savings to go small and extend. Try to do it in one go right from the get go..
- A typical construction with a basic interior finishes, start at around $80 per square foot and easily rise to $200 per square foot with custom cherry cabinets, hardwood baseboard & door and window trim, wool carpet, imported tiles, spa bath, custom showers, etc. Other factors to contribute to any cost would be the ease of access to the site with more difficult sites easily rising by 10%-15%, number of windows, type of roof, siding and the availability of labor Well, you get the idea, any answer would be a guess, I’m guessing around $90sf with a basic interior finishes and up to $200sf plus for the bells and whistles. Approximately $81000-$90000 @900sf Yes you could add on easily enough.
