what is the difference between home staging and interior design?

  1. I think that interior design is more personalize than home staging is. When you stage a home, you're trying to make it appeal to as many potential buyers as possible. When you design your interior, you're making the best use of the space and furniture to make it the way that you want.
  2. Home staging is cheap in comparison. If you are going to do interior design, you are going to spend Alot and will be planning on living in your house for quite some time. A good interior designer will listen to you and make the rooms look like you - it will look like the best you it can. It is individualistic. Home stagging realies on cheap remedies to alter the perception of the atmosphere - and so quality isnt the highest consideration here. Mostly it is painting and spackiling walls, replacing nasty carpets, and cleaning everything from the landscape to the kitchen. Home stagging will make a house agreeable to practically everyone and have little or no "you" in the home. It makes it a nice house, but not your nice home.
