  1. practice shading. find high quality drawings of objects, print, then recreate. make simple objects then move on to complicated ones then practice observational drawings. if you spend a good amount of time you will learn by yourself.
  2. for art school , you will want to draw more than design, you want to be able to draw on paper sketches, charcoal, colouring, painting type of art, the architectural aspect requires more accurate details, and proper technical tools, if you have access to local libraries, check there for books and manuals or tutorials for sketching, digital art, and design are a little bit different than drawing on paper, there are hardware tools like tablets and mouse devices that help in drawing, and the correct programs to use for either , http://www.rebekahlynn.com/free/tutorial/shading_tutorial.html http://www.elftown.com/_nathies%20pencil%20shading%20tutorial http://www.jdhillberry.com/how_to_draw_pg2.htm http://www.explore-oil-pastels-with-robert-sloan.com/perspective.html http://www.blazedent.com/drawingtutorials/tutorial_1_4.php http://www.khulsey.com/3_point_perspective.html http://vector.tutsplus.com/tutorials/illustration/using-adobe-illustrator-to-draw-in-perspective/ there are others, check devinahtArt and Youtube as well, ____ ArtRage 2 http://www.ambientdesign.com/artragedown.html Gimp ~image editor, http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html Inkscape illustrator http://www.inkscape.org/screenshots/index.php?lang=en ..
