Interior design essay ideas?

I have just started an interior design course, and I am a complete novice. I need to write an essay on anything about interior design, such as a period, a famous interior designer, etc etc. Can you give me any ideas on what I could write about please?

1. Think about what inspires you most.. Is there a period that you think most reflects your tastes? If you find something that strikes you as being particularly clever or attractive then research it and write about it. I am studying film, and usually i hate writing essays. But I find that focusing on a topic that interests me motivates me to learn more about it and having to write the essay just helps that happen! Good luck ;)
2. I would try - researching in Internet - to write an essay on OSVALDO BORSANI who was the most important ( even better than Gio Ponti ) European interior Designer. You will see that any research on BING - CLUSTY or Yahoo brings good information on the matter - and in this way you will write an useful and original essay.
