What are some softweres that a draftsperson uses? a civil engineer?

4. A draftsperson would use some type of CAD (Computer Aided Drawing/Drafting) software. One poster mentioned AutoCAD but there are many many other packages out there. Originally CAD was 2D but modern packages are 3D. Catia, IGES, Wikipedia article comparing different CAD software programs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_CAD_software A Civil engineer would use similar packages for roadwork, building designs etc but also some specialized software for doing civil engineering calculations - ex. are slope stability, soil content, beam and bridge calculations
