- Ryerson U in toronto, ontario is really good for that kinda stuff... depends where u live though, u might want to mention it it'll help
- In my area, interior designers that are qualified do reallllly well; I mean well into 6 figure incomes. It used to be that anyone with a knack for that sort of thing hung out their shingle, but people are more savvy today. There are a lot of schools that offer interior design courses, but there aren't really degrees in that sort of education. The big tickets are for members of NKD (National Kitchen Design), CKBD ( Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer ) and ASID ( American Society of Interior Designers). They all require a course of study and ongoing education. you might search at www.interiordesignschools.org. Good luck
- Yes you can make a life long career of it and there are many great schools out there depending on the type of interior design you wish to specialize in. You can take all kinds of different career paths after you graduate. You can open an interior design firm in several different specialties, green design, commercial or residential, landscape design, etc. You can design textiles, furniture, buildings, restaurants, do restorations, historical design, contemporary design, etc. working for yourself, for large corporations or for another designer. You may find a combination degree with architecture to be to your benefit, so explore minors to combine with the design specialty you choose for the type of career you wish to pursue. It is a rewarding career both financially and personally, good luck.
