Ideas for Eco-home designs?

In class I have to design an eco home. I want it to be underground/built into the hill. This means I'll have south facing windows to ensure I get as much sunlight as possible and sunpipes on the dark north side to increase the intake of natural light. I would like to use photovoltaic tiles to produce energy as well as a water wheel. I need to think of other ides for things like ventilation, waste control, heat control etc. Any help is appreciated THANK YOU! Oh and we have unlimited budget : D

  1. Earthship house, a design used before by environmentally friendly people
  2. I'd add in a natrual rain water collection system, grey water recycling system, septic with a water field, see if the site would support wind generator, LED lighting. Try to have few interior walls using the natural elements to divide living areas. You can use geothermal radiant floor heating. For ventilation I would create some closeable air shafts in the front and back of the unit. Put the intake low and the exhaust higher, perhaps use a solar powered fan vent to draw the airflow.
