what two types of structural designs are employed in the building of todays automobiles?

and briefly explain their differences.. please thank you

  1. Rigid frame and uni-body. Rigid frame is where there is an actual frame that the engine and all the suspension is attached, the body of the car is bolted onto the frame. Uni-body is where the body itself provides the structural integrity to support the engine and suspension.
