Any tips on getting a job in interior design?

I have no clue how to go about it, I'll definitely do research on my own but where are the best places to look for jobs in interior design, especially home interior design? Also is it absolutely necessary to have an art or interior design degree to get this kind of job? I actually meant interior decorator (ones that make things look pretty with out the engineering lol

  1. This might help you: http://www.interiordesigninfo.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=107:job-interior-design&catid=49:beid&Itemid=64 Many states require those calling themselves interior designers to be licensed (interior design degree, apprentice, and passing a nasty exam) while most anyone can call themselves an interior decorator, just as anyone can call themselves an artist. Probably the best place to look for a job would be a furniture store, but since the economy is so bad right now, finding any job will be difficult.
