Can small changes be done after house plans are approved/stamped?

I just got my remodel plans back from the city. But I decided I want to move an entry door to the garage four feet to the left and move the washer/dryer location about six feet. My question is if this can be done without having to have the architect draw up new plans again or pay additional fees to the city and would the inspector not allow it? thank you

  1. Nope, thats fine. just have it done. no need for redrawing of the blueprints :)
  2. Of course. There are extra charges with changing the plans but, rest assured, it happens all the time.
  3. Talk to the inspector. He may just give you a verbal OK. I a builder 30 years.
  4. The changes you have suggested, such as moving the entry door and moving the washer/ dryer will affect the exterior wall construction, plus the electrical and plumbing so, unfortunately you will need to have the architect change the plans (with his registered stamp) for re approval.
