Are small birds nosy?

I want a pet, and the pet shop has many little birds such as parakeets. Are they expensive? Noisy? and my plan is, and would be for any bird if would ever get would be to keep it until it knew me, such as train it in the house to come to me and then when I think it's ready set it free. I would see if it really is mine :) so it's not lie, OMG my bird is gone wa wa wa I would be happy that it got to fly. and if it would come back great! So, are they noisy, and cheap ish to keep? I mean, not like the WILD, just free and it can come back for food and such but if it does not want then I was never meant to keep it. I really want to watch a bird that I kept fly free, idk why, I just do.

  1. ya they are high pitched
  2. 1. all birds are noisy 2. I don't mean any offense, but it is stupid to want to release a bird into the wild. 99% of all birds sold in the US are hand raised. This means they have no clue what a predator is or how to survive on their own. They would be killed and eaten or die from exposure. It doesn't matter how long you've had the bird or how well trained they are.
  3. They can get loud, yes, and they are expensive to care for. You can't just get the cheapest cage; you'll have to spend a bit more on one that's big enough and safe. Also, you need an avian vet, and you have to buy toys and perches every so often so the bird doesn't get bored, and of course you can't just give it the cheapest food you can find. You might even have to replace your cookware, if it's nonstick, because fumes from that stuff will kill birds horribly. Now, as for your plan, that will never work. First of all, these birds were bred to be pets. To them, it's only normal to be under a roof, with a controlled temperature, and have food and water served to them every day. They have no idea how to survive on their own, and unless you live in Australia, you'd be releasing your bird into the wrong kind of environment anyway. The climate would be all wrong and there would be no wild members of its own species to help it. Setting a pet bird free is just asking for it to be killed by starvation, freezing, poison, or a predator, and until one of those happens, the bird is absolutely terrified because it wants to stay alive, but has no idea what to do or where to go, thus it doesn't survive. This is why people are so upset when their birds get loose by accident. If you get a bird, you can let it fly in the house, as long as all windows and doors to outside are shut and you take the time to bird-proof the area in which it will be allowed to fly, and supervise it the whole time it's out of the cage.
  4. It is normal for all birds to express themselves in song or chatter. To take proper care of a bird, or any pet, can run to money. They must have adequate housing, proper nutrition and medical care. If you're looking to cut corners on these needs, you don't need a live pet. Get a teddy bear. Setting non-native wildlife (birds, mammals or reptiles) loose is ILLEGAL ,
  5. Get a toucan
